It should fall under fair use since it's 10% of an article.

1. Oklahoma St.
2. UConn
3. Arizona
4. Michigan St.
5. Louisville
6. Gonzaga
7. UCLA
8. BYU
9. Ohio St.
10. Boise State

Weren't most people ranking Memphis ahead of UConn before the season? Call that the Pastner effect.

Oh wait, Miles Simon wrote it. Kind of takes any credibility out of the article.

He's #3 behind Doug McDermott and CJ Fair. Talks about him being one of the best point guards in the country and making big shots.

I can't lie I'm a huge Marcus Smart fan. The kid is a stud.

UConn would still beat OSU though let's be serious

I assume you come from an academic background, which is why you're always saying this, but the ten percent idea that comes up in the context of copying materials for academic classes is not some kind of across the board safe harbor for fair use. Not even close.

You can use more than 10%. 10% is simply playing it safe. Any writer can do this, and it doesn't apply solely to academics. It's a question of critical commentary.

The essential part is that you're using it in a way that doesn't infringe on competition. You're not stealing, you're using to comment critically. 10% is for critics (message board critics too0.

Kromah should probably be included in any discussion of UConns backcourt. He is a very good defender and backs up all three starting guards.

I would like to know what makes miles simon an insider, all the information in that article is general knowledge. Lots of cliches. Nothing about schemes like Greenberg, who actually watches a ton of hoop.

Speaking of ESPN insider articles, can someone with access tell us if this one talks about Shabazz at all:

http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbexperts/post/_/id/860/ranking-the-nations-best-seniors

Here you go:

3. Shabazz Napier, G, Connecticut Huskies

Napier’s career began with a supporting role behind Kemba Walker during the Huskies’ 2011 national championship season. He learned well, because he may be (along with Ohio State’s Aaron Craft) the best leader in the senior class. He already has hit a number of crucial shots and is assisting on more than one-third of his teammates’ baskets. If he’s not the best point guard in college basketball, he is on the short list.

Yeah let's completely ignore Niels and Kromah, who combine to contribute 15 points (i.e. nearly 20% of our total production) and 5 rebounds a game off the bench. Not to mention their intangibles on defense; arguably our two best defenders. I guess there aren't enough top-ranked freshmen on our team....

Niels is more of a forward, even though he does sub in for Calhoun at times I think it's somewhat fair to leave him off the backcourt analysis.

Kromah seems to play like more of a guard, so he should probably be included, even if his main contribution is defense.

You're talking about the ESPN snippet in the first linked article? Kromah is good, and we all love him, but I don't know if that level of resolution is what these ESPN articles are going for. If it was an article solely about UConn's backcourt, leaving him out would be worse, but this is just a small part of a larger article.
