Figured we'd be on there when I saw the title of the article.

Connecticut: UConn finished last season with a first-round loss in the NIT, an abrupt change for a program that had cut down the nets in the previous season. Ollie has more talent and balance in 2015-16. Transfers Shonn Miller and Sterling Gibbs both averaged more than 16.0 PPG last season. Four-star recruit Jalen Adams possesses the maturity to help as a freshman. And Rodney Purvis, the former McDonald’s All-American, could reach his potential. Amida Brimah and Daniel Hamilton are back, too, so the Huskies should again compete for the American crown and get back to the Big Dance.

The level of flip flopping and contradictory talk ESPN has regarding us is laughable.

We are always unranked or put down by analysts but then they throw in little asterisks at the end like "*but watch out for Connecticut as a dark horse this year" to cover their bases and hedge their bets when we inevitably make noise.

I don't think its necessarily inconsistent.

We can be a 26-30 ranked team in their eyes, and just outside the top 15 for programs prepared for the next 5 years and positioned to make the dance and compete for the AAC title. None of that would be out of line with the rest.

Or too far off of our own optimistic expectations for that matter.

What the heck is the definition of a turnaround?

That's the galling thing. You have your 4 Time NC in with Oregon State, Mississippi State, Penn State ... as if anything beyond mediocre was ever their high water mark.

True, but it seems like you never see ESPN giving title/final four threat potential to any of these other mid level P5 or high end mid major programs they put on these "fringe" lists. Probably because UConn is one of the few programs where despite how weak they may seem, always has players capable of stepping up and beating any team on a given night, something few can say.

$$$$$. Do a google trend search for the blue bloods of college basketball and look at their hit % vs. ours. ESPN's job is to make money. For college basketball its a simple job. You feed the beast that is BBN. You pump duke. You run a dedicated Carolina blog year round and then report on the hot teams in the margins.

One year turnaround. Last year's team didn't live up to a typical UConn team and they're saying this year they will be much better.

In addition to the points @OkaForPrez made I don't think it's contradictory that different writer have different viewpoints, same as this forum.

This is gonna sound crazy, but just maybe some of them actually form their own opinions and.... Wait for it...

Disagree!??!
