I still love that interview they did last year during the NCAA Super Regionals that was a feature of the "odd-couple" (which I did not like that label) of Geno & Chris -- that was an awesome piece. Wish they would do more with the two of them together.

About Bob Knight, who is interviewing Geno in one of the clips. I used to think he was a bully and a jerk, and maybe he was or is. But he was commentator on one women's b'ball game, and unlike virtually all of the other drop-in announcers who see only what they are told they would see beforehand, Knight actually watched the game and could point out, for example, that the highly touted player (I think it was Courtney Paris) was being outplayed by a teammate. The rest of the dilettantes (e.g., Vitale) simply regurgitate whatever story lines they are handed ahead of time and pay no attention to the actual game. I came away with a lot of respect for Knight for his performance.

The other game announcer who did a good job was Jeff Van Gundy who similarly commented on exactly what was going on and the adjustments being made.

Van Gundy was awesome - a breath of fresh air for whatever game that was. (Baylor? )

Yeah, right. Duke was and is the "house team" at ESPN. Abbey Whinner had her own blog on the front page for her last 2 years and Vitale drops to his knees at the mere mention of Coach K. In addition, doesn't Duke have their own contract with ESPN?

I think Van Gundy is typically terrible for the NBA. (I also think it's similar to Meg, where he just sees so much of it that he gets old.) But he was very good for the women.
