MVP: Pheesa

DPOY: Austin, Honorable Mentions to Phee and Gabby

50/40/90 Club: Azzi, with HM to Paige

I thought it was cool that they labeled Napheesa as a likely future MVP, which I agree with. She’s already come pretty close!

Rhyne Howard and NaLyssa Smith were obvious choices. I predicted they would transition to the WNBA and continue to play at a high level because of their DNA. They are ballers and can only play one way. Neither are afraid to play, and neither will play scared, back down or be intimidated by older established league veterans. They are my kind of players.

Players who won't shrink (or disappear) against the top 10 teams when we play them. Looking up and down THIS roster, I don't see any "magicians." That should make those games more interesting (winnable) and fun to watch. I don't want to see any more games like the one against South Carolina where UConn only scored 2 points in the first quarter. The game was over at that point.
