My TV Guide still shows that soccer game tonight at 7 PM (10 PM EDT) on ESPN2, so I guess that means they're showing a replay of the soccer game on ESPN2 and moving the WNBA playoff game to a different channel? Still no difference for me since I get both channels, but maybe you can DVR the whole soccer game tonight on ESPN2...?
Would have been nice, but NOPE. Freaking WNBA game runs over into the soccer game.

Wanna know what I don't understand? They have the technology/ability to have split screen broadcasts, so why not show both events on their designated channel and give the viewers the ability to select which event is their priority event (has the larger portion of the screen and the audio)?

Washington vs. Atlanta game scheduled for 2pm on ESPN2 apparently does not have priority over some minor college football game...This is one reason why women's basketball is looked at as a minor sport. They just announced that the game has started and can be seen on the ESPN AP. I do not have the ESPN AP and I don't want it. I was intending on watching this game in it's entirety on ESPN2. This is a great example of disrespecting women's basketball. SCREW ESPN.

Last night:
-- Storm-Mercury averaged 148,000 viewers (ESPNEWS broadcast).
-- Could not find viewership for Dream-Mystics.

On ESPN during those times, US Open Tennis averaged 1,951,000 viewers, whileWestern Kentucky-Wisconsin football averaged 1,409,000 viewers.

On ESPN2, a college football studio show averaged 270,000 viewers; the start of the football game while tennis ran over on the main channel averaged 688,000 viewers; more tennis averaged 705,000 viewers,; and the part of the USWNT exhibition that was not cut off averaged 236,000 viewers.

ESPNU is in about the same number of homes as ESPNEWS. Army-Duke football averaged 503,000 viewers, and then a high school football game averaged 125,000 viewers.

As an aside, if you have a cable subscription that includes ESPN/ESPN2, you can watch games on the ESPNApp. I have watched Mercury games on my phone while at the gym or doing other things.

So the Storm-Mercury Game 5 playoff game did 18% better than a high-school football game. Hmmmm...

Cam, I like you, but please don't largely copy my posts from elsewhere word for word and then put them here without attribution.

Those were the Friday games. Here is part of what I found on Sunday:

The unfairly maligned football game averaged 362,000 viewers. The portion of Dream-Mystics that actually made in on the air averaged 339,000 viewers.

Storm-Mercury put up very nice numbers across the board with an average of 460,000 viewers and a healthy number of younger viewers.

It was highly rated enough that we have readily available demographic data expressed in percentages:
18-49: .17
F18-49: .09
M18-49: .25
18-34: .18
F12-34: .07
M12-34: .23
25-54: .14
50+: .19

On ESPN, hours of US Open coverage averaged 1,526,000 viewers. Notre Dame-Purdue volleyball on ESPNU at 2pm averaged 158,000 viewers.

My apologies! I thought I had included the link to your Rebkell post with my post! So sorry about that! I always include the sources, so I am truly sorry!
