Good and long article from Mike Anthony.

“I mean, obviously that’s something positive to take away,” Reibe said of Hurley's remarks. “On the other hand, the season is still long and there’s so much room for improvement that we need to achieve. You can take some of that and put it on your shoulder, but there’s so much more we can grow and build on. What we still lack is that killer instinct.”

“In the end, I picked a staff,” Reibe said. “All the other stuff is cool. But in the end, I picked a staff. Not an arena and stuff. I play for the coaches. They were always straight up to me, never sugar-coated anything, always told me what I need to do to improve and always kept it real. They built up a trust.

Good article, Great endorsement by Reibe.

Thank you for posting it, and so many others. Your posts are truly appreciated.

"Big Chicken" too funny, I guess because he moves well. Another home run from Mike Anthony showcasing one of our own. Eric has all the tools, he is learning a lot of big man stuff from this staff, and is a helluva player already. One understated thing about both him and his game I think is his toughness.

"he lives on Dan Hurley’s frequency"

I'm offended that he didn't choose the school because it had the best basketball focused message board posters. These kids need to get better priorities. At least he loves the fans.

“I want to get better every single day, no matter how I'm feeling," Reibe said while announcing his UConn commitment in October 2024, on 247 Sports. "I just can't wait to be on campus and play in front of the best fans in the country. I'll bring everything I have, all my energy I have. And I'm happy to be a [bleeping] Husky."

Once again this staff shows it has a knack for recruiting players that buy in all the way and do what needs to be done to help the team, trusting that the staff will see to their personal development as well. Hurley mentions Reibe doing that by being a physical presence inside, when he can do a lot more outside.

He’s trying to refine his game, more so than build it. He’s thinking not about how he can block more shots, for instance, but how he can block shots in a way that retains possession for the Huskies — how to pin more against the backboard, maybe, instead of swatting them.

Is this @Chief00 certified? 😂
