EOY predictions

Ashlon Jackson, Sr., G, Duke - 657
My goodness--amateur hour indeed! I mean, these voters are just something else entirely. The information is RIGHT THERE!

Don’t personally love 15 players being “first team” but whatever.

My gripe is you can’t convince me Madison Hayes isn’t one of the best 25 players in the ACC. An outstanding two way player. 11 ppg 7.5 rebounds. 38% 3 point shooter with good volume. 1st in the ACC in offensive rating and top 10 nationally. Defends multiple positions and just always makes the right play. She is to NCSU what Citron is to ND, that glue piece that doesn’t need the ball or plays run for her yet ends up with solid numbers efficiently and makes winning plays.

I'd love to know how coach Lawson scores so low in the COY category when we finished 3rd in the league and have as many players as 9-9 GT (1 on each) on the All conference teams. Wizardry, I tell ya! Voting is so strange......

Agreed about Madison Hayes. NC State wouldn't be where it is without her. Sort of like Kayla Jones on our Cunane-led teams, Maddie Hayes does all the little things that need to be done. A real shame the Conference couldn't find some way to recognize her.

The voters had to make sure that multiple players from the conference's bottom three teams were represented instead. Imagine winning All-ACC honors but your team didn't even qualify for the ACC Tournament!

ACC Sixth Player
Dani Carnegie, Georgia Tech - 372
Oluchi Okananwa, Duke - 324
Tess Heal, Stanford - 52
Unless it's simply a matter of spreading awards around, I'm having a hard time understanding how Fournier was FOY but nowhere in the voting for Sixth Player. Make it make it sense!

15 first team is incredible. Way too many.
Yeah..but think of it this way: there are 18 teams in the league. Each team has 5 starters plus several have players that contribute major minutes every game off the bench. That would be at least 95 players. How can you narrow the list to just 5 for a traditional First Team?

I’m confused how Kaye (Pitt) made it on the ACC 1st team and yet Georgia Woolley (Syracuse) didn’t make 1st or 2nd team. To my eyes, they’re about equal — maybe Woolley is a tad bit better overall. Honestly neither really deserves to be on the list for either team, I’m just puzzled.

I can cut 5 and narrow it to 10 pretty easily.

Glad that there is no need to march to the Coliseum to protest,,,,, possible storms this morning :p

Wait--Aaliyah Nye didn't make the All-SEC team?????

These voters, man.

Switching back to the ACC: I need someone to put a battery in Muffet's back about the Virginia Tech snubs. Kelly Gramlich--where are you?

Gramlich expressed surprise yesterday when the ACC awards were announced that not one player from VT was selected for either the first or second teams.

Muffet's voice holds far more weight in women's basketball than Kelly (understatement, I know), and I think her, specifically, speaking out about her former player's team getting disrespected by the ACC media may catch the collective ear of WBB media.

OK, but there are All American teams that include only 5 on the 1st team!

This team can play an effective zone.
Maybe like soccer where half the team never crosses midcourt. And one defender permanently camps out right in front of the rim.

With 18 teams, just do a clean 10 person 1st team, 10 person 2nd team, maybe a 5 person HM. There's enough talent in these massive conferences for more credit to go around. Texas getting just 1 player recognized on 1st/2nd team despite winning the conference and being #1 in the country doesn't seem right. Players like Rori Harmon and Taylor Jones deserve recognition.
Wait’ll you hear how many teams compete for All American…

First team all conference should be 5 players. Put twenty on the 2nd team if you want more players to get recognition.
