Entering the portal - 2026

How much is this roster?

Projected Starting 5:

G Caleb Foster 1.5mm

G John Blackwell 3.5mm

G Dame Sarr 2mm

F Cam Williams 1mm

C Patrick Ngongba 3mm

Projected Bench: Bryson Howard, Cayden Boozer, Deron Rippey, Maxime Meyer, Sebastian Wilkins, Ifeanyi Ufochukwu, Drew Scharnowski

That starting lineup has to be a good 11-12mm minimum, then they got another 7 guys on the bench including 3 McD AA's. We have to be talking 20mm

Or the refs call it equitable. Cadeau is better at one thing, flopping. It's hard to call the health thing out because their best player looked about 50%.
You are talking Duke money. Alums from there have done well.

Thiam was probably the best big in the portal this year- huge get for Michigan- on their way to another big season.

Rippey coming off the bench is insane

What I'm afraid of longer term - Dusty, who is smart, winning with $$. I'm less concerned with guys like Pope and the Ville coach, but if you give a smart coach like Dusty the $$ advantage, will be tough to beat.
I fully expect May to go to the NBA sooner rather than later. He’s already getting rumors in this cycle.

Hard to believe we were ever in it never mind second. Not that we couldn’t pay. It’s just it seems we prefer not to pay for these type of players. I of course could be wrong and would have loved to get him but it doesn’t seem to be the way Hurley operates. If this turns out to be true I would love to know their total spend when it’s all said and done. Duke’s too.

We’re trusting Tony on the Boat now?
Tony Soprano Nothing GIF

I guess it is about money but they have to know they will get more exposure in March with UConn than St John. Really wanted Diop that would have been the rim protector that made a difference and would allow Khamania to play the 4 without creating size issues.

Who knows what more is behind the scene but Pitino is not a better coach than Hurley. Who is playing well at the next level after leaving St Johns since Pitino has been the coach.

It would be nice to get the best of the best occasionally. And not have to watch Dook and the vampire constantly get the more talented players.

They are all going to have to adopt to playing roles at the next level so why not get started earlier and learn how to fit into a winning system in college. Castle, Spencer and Clingan are the examples.

Really don’t know how this works. Are there no restrictions on teams taking money from donors/alumni and using it directly for payments to players?
Officially? Who knows? The NCAA doesn’t have a clue.

Nobody is picking him up in the first or 2nd round. Too small and not a good enought shooter or athlete to make up for it.
6'1" - those profiles are almost worthless these days. If anyone saw Reed Sheppard in the playoffs, you'd know why. To those arguing kids like Acadien Lewis play in the league, no they won't.
