How dumb do you jump-the-gun posters feel now? In the words of Aaron Rodgers... R-E-L-A-X, relax!

The kid was dynamic today. We played our best ball when we was on the floor. He hit some 3s early before getting in foul trouble. Then in the second half when we needed to get going, he was able to penetrate and put Dayton on their heels and draw some fouls. He was great in transition as well. Happy for him.

But Wise saw it with his eyes!

Let the mental midgets make them, just makes them look stupid, and allows others to understand who on the forum has a brain and who does not.

After yesterday I know I do not need to read anything Wise says, because it will be drivel.

Reactionary dummies, they won't ever admit they are wrong. Agreed on everything you said and he played stellar D too.

Sorry but its Boneyard tradition, still around after 4 Championships and will still be around tomorrow and thereafter. Its unfortunate but sadly there is another player coming who will get the same treatment.

I'm at the point of head scratching, and head shaking but other than that I expect it.

Even with the BS, this place is still the greatest board in all of college basketball.

I hope that all the Purvis naysayers are DONE now! Kid's gonna be a star here. I'm convinced!

Kemba, Bazz, Boat were all criticized to my recollection too.... You're right it won't end - that is the way of the Boneyard.

Guys, you can rag me all you want. It's not like I wanted him to be out out sync or have a lot of rust. I was hoping he would come out of it. I was speaking as to what I was for the 3 games (two exhibition) that I saw him play. He was just not playing up to par. Today was a 110% better. I feel a lot better. However, if you are telling me he was playing OK those first games, I don't know what you were watching.

Still not convinced about his outside shot but he is beast going to the hole and on the break. Kid is a tremendous athlete.

We all know he was rusty, pointing out his rust is very different to saying he sucks and he can't dribble, play above the rim etc.

I never said he sucks. I said that after 3 games he wasn't showing any of the traits he was suppose to possess. He was playing more like Omar and less like a Ferrari. Today, I saw a Ferrari

Agree on everything you said, that the OP said, especially the part about DEFENCE. Our D in the second half was the difference and any player who is an asset on D is worthy of playing time and important to the team.

to his credit, Wise did in his thread.

But in all seriousness, Purvis just can't play above the rim.

The only thing I saw in the second half was about 1 minute or less to go when P took it to the hole instead of backing it out and running time off the clock. Ollie was not happy about that decision. I am confident that will be corrected. He looked in relative control in the second half to his credit. It seems to be coming around.

I wasn't ready to trash Purvis or say he should be kicked out of the starting lineup, but I'll admit, I was a bit nervous after yesterday's game, considering how he also struggled in the exhibitions. But Rodney looked a million times more comfortable on the court today. He's got some serious blow-by ability.

I really hope one of Ollie's post game quotes is about the Ferrari being out of the garage.

A particular (good) poster started a thread about Bazz being the worst Calhoun point guard. Can't forget that one.

15 years ago I read a uconn message board thread, and then a few more about some dog named Ricky Moore. It kinda pissed me off. Moore became my new favorite player, and I decided to get more involved in this message board fad.

Anyone who thinks I was wrong about Moore is a fool, and I am fairly certain this internet thing worked out pretty damn well for UConn fans.

Purvis is now my favorite player. Do the math.

I think it's funny when people get mad when other people jump the gun saying a player is bad, but then go and jump the gun when he has one good game talking about how great they're. We learned nothing about purvis so far

I've done the same thing - loved Ricky, loved Taliek, loved Boat when he was getting kicked around. Now that Boat's in everyone's good favor, I'm actually a little more critical on nit-picky things he can improve on. Tried sticking up for Dyson for most of his senior year, but I had to admit defeat.

The guys who play hard, and play fast, I tend to like and give a pass to when they make mistakes trying to speed the game up. The ones who I think can be a bit lazy are the ones that have felt my keyboard wrath

Because of one game? Its one game. The same way some people want to label him a bust after one game its premature to label him a "star". Lets let him be who hes going to be and just root him on with out all the prognostications.

Yup. That is why that guy should be raged on though, if you make a blanket statement about a player off one game you're not that bright. (I do not count exhibitions as games, they are glorified practices)

We will not know what we have in Rodney for a while.
