Oklahoma seems suited for the PAC 12, but would go the B1G route with OSU and WVU to the SEC then. UCONN ends up in the B1G.

say what ?

Baylor and Florida St. are going to jump soon and join the SEC soon. When they expand maybe UCONN could get into the ACC that's the most ideal situation right.

Baylor ? Nobody wants that embarrassment of an athletic program. not any major conference anyway. Not sure that even the Big 12 is that fond of them...but they are stuck with them for now.... perhaps Conference USA or the Sun Belt would take them.

Florida State isnt going anywhere anytime soon.

Agreed for the most part. But people and conferences have short memories. In the public eye and in the eye of the conferences BU said they were sorry by the firing of Briles and the resignation of McCaw with Starr stepping aside. No matter the reality of a toxic culture encouraged by boosters and alumni. In two years if new coach Grobe is a good boy Baylor would be an attractive get for these conferences. Especially for a college athletic world that seems destined to drastically reduce conferences by consolidating into massive and separate football and basketball conferences.

Yes.... Baylor would be an attractive get for Conference USA or the Sun Belt... or the AAC. For the SEC, ACC, Big 10, and the Pac 12.... Baylor offers nothing.

Texas going to the ACC is more plausible than Baylor getting into any of those 4 conferences.

UCONN can thank Hathaway and some CT HS FB coaches for pushing for and hiring the clueless Pasqualini (sp?), which for all circumstances killed a promising FB program under Edsall (how's MD FB working out for you now?)!
It's a shame that FB is the top dog where all athletic decisions are made, because IMO UCONN has a lot to offer ANY of the 5 major conferences in a lot of areas! Education, athletics, East coast representation, and an extremely loyal fan base that is willing to travel to support their Huskies!

Since UCONN was pitching a football only membership to the Big 12 and would have had basketball join the Big East, why not go ahead make it happen with basketball.

Not true. That rumor came from some uninformed twitter goon.

Basketball is not going to the BE. That would be the dumbest move to make. UConn will stay in the AAC for the foreseeable future.
