Elite Eight Thread (non UConn games)

Rooting Tennessee, could be wrong but Purdue looks tougher to beat.
Purdue is shooting really well from 3, they have decent ball movement, and of course they've got the man-mountain. So they've got the ingredients. But I don't think they have the recipe. I think Castle on Smith could really reduce Smith's impact on both shooting from deep and passing for easy assists. And Smith really is the key to that offense, not Edey.

Purdue in the bonus at 13:06. Feels like this is Purdue's time to catch up and pull ahead. Tennessee has to play very carefully for the rest of the half

As funny as it would be to see Purdue lose again in the elite 8 I don’t want to see 2 SEC teams make the final four

Why don't you want to see 2 SEC teams make the final four?

Purdue getting a generous whistle so far. Edey can be as physical as he wants, no fouls.
Really hard to officiate Edey. He gets held every single possession, but he also throws elbows every single possession. If refs called everything then him and his defender would both foul out in 5 minutes

That's just not right.

Purdue has the possibility of coming down to Castle guarding Smith (bring it) and Edey getting gifts from the whistle (very concerning)

Bama and Tennessee look a lot like Illinois where decent defense and finding the right place to attack offensively should lead to a win.

It's the final four. You have to play well at both ends if you want to win. Still think the only team that can beat UConn is UConn.

Now Tennessee in the bonus 7 minutes later. Physical game!

I like what Tenn is doing. It's early, but TN has 8 assists on 9 made shots, while Purdue is just 4 for 8 - and Purdue is the nation leader in assists. Smith averages 7.5 assists/game and so far has just one.

Dalton Knecht: 16
Purdue: 21

Tennessee up 11 with 5 minutes left in the first half. Knecht is on FIRE

Damn Dalton. The opponent can't let him get any airspace to breathe. He is shooting Purdue out of this game

Tennessee is playing both aggressive and smart. Knecht is a heckuva player. They’ve done a great job harassing Edey both when he gets the ball and denying him his favorite spot at the basket circle.
