I think the complaining about fouls on Edey is way overblown. I do think he gets a soft whistle when it comes to fouls he commits, but 95% of the fouls on him that are called are absolutely legit. He gets hacked, shoved, and grabbed more than anyone I’ve ever seen.

He also clears guys out with his arms constantly.

If any team can neutralize the lack of calls on Edey, it's the Duke floppers.

The way UConn will need to play if it's a final against Purdue is to get on the defensive boards keeping Edey from putbacks, and also have Clingan and Johnson run hard on every possession even off makes. Push the ball up court hard and wear out Edey trying to keep up.

Need another lockdown defensive performance from Castle/Diarra on Sears. Bama loves to shoot threes and attack the rim, so need to take away their threes and get them trying to finish over Clingan

Defensive gameplan is essentially the same as Northwestern and Illinois. Buie, Shannon, and Sears are all elite scorers. Play to our identity, keep Clingan out of foul trouble, and we dictate who wins and who loses

Making our open threes would be nice too

In fairness, he actually doesn’t really foul on defense at least. He almost never leaves his feet and plays a really deep drop coverage because he’s so big. Definitely gets a friendly whistle with some of his offensive fouls.

NCState is this years Cinderella who eventually loses in the Tournament. Duke is basically playing above their talent level, barely a Top 25 team. Duke has the best shot of knocking off Purdue.

Big Burns is 6'9", 275. The bulk and passing and left hand moves are fun to watch, but Edey has 7 inches on him. That's huge. You aren't beating Purdue with a 6"9" center.

It's like that every year with a new batch of about 6 or 7 commercials. How people arent driven nuts by the midway point of day one with the same half dozen God awful commercials. You can't be THAT bad unless it's on purpose.
