Elgin Baylor, 86, RIP

Loved the old film of Baylor's Lakers going against the Celts, seemed like Elgin was really ahead of his time. He moved and played a bit like Doc. Really enjoyed watching his overall game. RIP Mr. Baylor.

GREAT GREAT ballplayer and human being
RIP Mr. Baylor

I love listening to everyone talking about the best ever...his name never comes up. He was special.

After 1970 his name never should have come up as best ever.

He's still a top 15-20 all-time. No shame on that. For PF's you have to put Mailman and Big Fundamental ahead of him. After that, he's in conversation for PF's.

He was a sf.

Much like Charles Barkley was a SF. An SF in name only.

You can list the karate kid, Rudy LaRusso as the PF for the Lakers, but Elgin spent just as much time in the paint and doing his work inside while he was in his prime.

Along with with the Big O ,Elgin was a one of my boyhood idles.
UConn actual lost a heartbreaker to his Seattle FF team 87-83 in the opening round of a Holiday Tournament in the Garden 1957 , we won our next two.

RIP to a great one .

Hmm, think he was way ahead of his time. Sort of invented the "point" forward.

I remember having a computer game on my old Commodore 64 that let you pick roster of NBA greats. I always took Elgin Baylor and he always crushed it.
