Edey played all 40 minutes

Edy will play 50 minutes in his last collegiate game with a title on the line, if he has to. Its apparent that he won't get tired. Quite impressive, his conservation of energy.

Just saying 'tiring him out' strategy won't work (as a primary).

Maybe he doesn't get tired but he is not running up and down the court if he's trying to conserve energy so he won't get tired. Which makes inside baskets for UConn much easier when he's not back on defense.

Have we seen any games where he played a fast team? He has to get tired. He's 300 pounds. He's not a robot.

We should just PNR him to death. We have the ball handlers and shooters. Clingan and Samson get up high enough to safely lob it to them over Edey. His ability to defend that is what his NBA future hinges on, and it’s why people are most skeptical of him

Have a feeling they play like Creighton, Edey drops back in almost a one-man zone with their guards going over any high screen to try and chase shooters off the three point line and funnel UConn's guards into the paint and Edey while staying home on the other three players and switching off ball screens. In the NBA, he and Kalkbrenner won't be able to do that, but college doesn't have the same defensive rules.

On the plus side they are even shorter than Creighton 1-3, on the minus Edey is bigger than Kalkbrenner, and arguably as (or more) effective as a space eating defender.

IMO Clingan doesn't even need to win the individual battle against Edey (Edey's gonna get his points and will have the refs in his back pocket) - DC just needs to avoid drawing fouls and stay in the game long enough to neutralize Edey's presence, box him out, get some rebounds and create enough floor space for the rest of the team to get to the rim or hit mid-range shots.

And of course, speed up the tempo so Edey has to run the floor. Edey is better in the paint in half court, but Clingan can run the floor better than Edey.

We win as a team. No matter who the opponent, this team beats them by wearing them down. We stick to that and we win.

Like other's have said get out in transition, but to facilitate that they must all box out fly to the rebounds and get it down court quickly. We team rebound very well.

Reminder of how competent Big East perimeter defense, and guard penitration faired against the Purdue front Court. Marquette was absolutely crushed on the boards and hit less than a third of their threes, but feasted in the paint.

Johnson is the key in this game. He needs to step up to give Clingan much needed break, and play fundamentally sound defense, arms straight up like a tree. He is too foul prone.

Use Johnson to sprint the court and force Edey to keep up while Clingan rests.

Id have Slam setting picks for guys getting them open shots forcing Edey to come out and when he does Slam blows by and gets the lob. Edey is too slow to recover. Thats what makes Clingan such a beast. Since hes gotten healthy hes been covering more and more ground and now that hes in shape hes been insanely mobile for a guy his size. I simply dont understand how people dont see how Edey is going to have a lot of trouble with DC. This is going to be like Foreman vs Holyfield to use a boxing comparison.

Edey is not going to be able to walk up and down the court for 40 minutes. This game is going to show people why Edey is not seen by the NBA as a top draft pick. Hes a back up that can come in and get a couple rebounds and a bucket or two.
