Hoopsdiva called it. Earlier she posted: "Washington may be trying to free up cap space. Trade two veteran salaries for a rookie and potentially a superstar if they sign EDD. We'll see how it works out for them".

This puts a different spin on these trades. They were dumping salary in anticipation of getting this deal done.
