Congrats to her. Seems like moving around the country (maybe beyond?) and playing in the W (very well, at that) is paying off professionally and emotionally.

Congrats to Elena Delle Donne on 2015 WNBA MVP.
I know this is selfish but every EDD success rips at my heart a little bit because I did not get to see Her, Maya, Tina in the same line up- that would have been Epic!

Totally unfair to the rest of the world.

Maya was second in the voting and Tina third, according to the WNBA website:

Points Player Team First-Place Votes
385 points - Elena Delle Donne Chicago Sky (38 first place votes)

246 - Maya Moore Minnesota Lynx (1)
181 - Tina Charles New York Liberty
70 - Brittney Griner Phoenix Mercury
57 - Candace Parker Los Angeles Sparks
29 - DeWanna Bonner Phoenix Mercury
13 - Epiphanny Prince New York Liberty
10 - Angel McCoughtry Atlanta Dream
7 - Courtney Vandersloot Chicago Sky
1 - Nneka Ogwumike Los Angeles Sparks

Must be something wrong with the Voting as the Pipeline to the WNBA; Notre Dame; doesn't have a player who received any votes :)

Skylar was heading that way until her ACL had other plans :(.

I'm very happy for Elena. She is my favorite athlete and for her to win MVP (by a near-unanimous vote) while dealing with chronic Lyme is an amazing accomplishment.

Congrats to her. An almost Husky won out over 2 other Huskies. If Dee had played this past year, she'd probably have been on the short list too. We are so lucky to have had so many greats go thru our program!!

That's actually very good news for Kiah in the RoY voting because like Kiah in the rookies' contest, EDD had a huge lead over all the other players in the Win Shares category, beating out Maya by 8.7 to 6.3. So obviously the main thing that the voters are using to decide these awards has to be Win Shares. :)

I hope so but they're one, two in scoring so...

All 9 Americans. Do Bonner, Vandersloot and Prince have a shot at the Olympic team?

Battling an infectious disease and playing at such a high level is incredibly hard to do. I have twice had long battles with infectious diseases and she has my utmost respect. I hope she is healthy for the Olympics.

Prince plays her international basketball for Russia, so no on that.

Not sure about Bonner.

I would think Sloot has a chance, especially if a pure point guard (pass-first) is preferred. After Bird, I can't come up with anyone better in that area. Her defense is just ok, though. Depends on what the coaches value.

Vandersloot is definitely in the team pool and I think has a good shot, the other two, meh - too much competition in the wing position for them to get a serious look.

As Orang noted, Prince is on the Russian National Team, although I thought I heard they didn't make the Olympics? or maybe I'm confused.

Nah, Bonner doesn't bring anything special to a National Team. Great player in the right circumstances, and love her on the Merc, but on a National Team not so much.

Sloot is indeed in the program and very well has a shot.
