I know that we really don't care, BUT: where's the logic in this if you're the ECU hierarchy?
-Is it to get the school's foot in the door?
-Where will they put their Olympics to be competative now that C-Usa is basically absorbed into NNNBE?
-Is there a promise of full membership in the pipeline?
There are so many unanswered questions on this puzzling move.

The Logic is about 3-4 million bucks as a football member versus 850 k that they get from CUSA.

They are rabid football fans who have wanted this a LONG time. I doubt they cons regarding their Olympic sports factored very much. And there is always the chance to be a full member as the conference morphs in to CUSA.

Less travel. More $$ saved. Thay's why.

If it weren't for the small probability that UConn will make $4 million a year in the next TV contract, I would advise UConn to make a similar decisions and join the Catholics in a basketball only with Eastern football + Cincy.

Temple, UMass, Cincy, Buffalo, Villanova, E. Carolina, USF, UCF, Navy, Army.

This way, you amp up the basketball while waving the white flag in football.
