As they have all season no one turns a loss into a positive in the national rankings like the Dukies. Look for them to leverage this loss against unranked tarheals this week. 21 and 6 should get them a number 3 rank. In other news Witchita St just beat NW Catholic High School to stay unbeaten.

What happened they were up big last time they cut to the score ...

Carolina rushed the court. I'm waiting for the anti rush-the-court dictators to come out. Dck Vitale did as soon as it happened. Glad UNC won. Screw Dook

Dook is such a one dimensional team, hope they and Cuse are in our bracket.

I want to know why Duke is rated 5th in the country. Seriously they have won one game on the road against a top 25 team in Pitt. They have lost to Kansas, Syracuse, Arizona and beat Michigan. So why are they rated 5th in the country.

UCONN is 3-2 against top 25 teams. They need a victory on the road against a Louisville, but overall they are as impressive as Duke.

Maybe the Pukesters are tired of paying the dry cleaning bills for the banner they hoisted after the 1998-99 season proclaiming them the "Final Regular Season AP No. 1 Ranked Team." They want to replace it with a new one, so they've bribed the voters to keep voting them upward, so they can get rid of that ratty old reminder that they were No. 2 on the court at the end of the tournament that mattered in '99.

Didnt duke move up 6 spots after losing to Cuse the first time? Ive been watching uconn for 25 years and i dont ever remember uconn moving up that many spots in a loss. heck i dont remember any team ever making a jump like that after a loss.

they benefited massively from Syracuse being rated number one even though they are clearly far from being a typical #1 ranked team. If syracuse had lost to BC before playing dook, than there's no way duke even moves up from the loss. Timing has a lot to do with things. If UConn beats Florida when they are ranked #1, than that would have helped us a lot more than beating them with a much lower ranking. If we had lost to smu when they were ranked, than that wouldn't have hurt us very much at all. Unfortunately neither were the case.

To me we are a 5 seed right now. If we play as well down the stretch as we have played all season, than I think we end up with a 5 seed and if we win the American, than probably a 4 seed or possibly a 3 depending how other teams ahead of us right now finish the season. If you look at the rankings, than you will see that a close loss to a highly ranked team is actually better than a win against a very low ranked RPI team. If we could throw out wins against Temple and put in close losses to kansas and Arizona, than we might be ranked higher. I'm serious. OR if we had an easier schedule and only had 2 losses like St. Louis does. I feel like we are in the middle. Hard enough of a schedule to have 5 losses even though we have several very good wins, but easy enough where we are discredited for beating a lot of teams we have beaten.

Forget all the "if" talk. Ive never seen a team jump that many spots in a loss before. its ridiculous and indefensable bias crap!

The blatant favoratism or lack of is the worst its ever been. They load acc and big 10 teams in top and then they stay up based on winning to other undeserving conference members. Then Duke will play home games in tourney.

Florida was 15th when UCONN beat them. Not so bad and of course now they are 2nd in the country. UCONN is hurt because of the conference they play in. The top is pretty good but the bottom is terrible.

UCONN just has to keep winning, and the rest will take care of itself

Lol, I was thinking the same and UNC moves into top 20.

I wish the Duke obsession would go away for one week. God it's annoying.

agreed. However, historically in many years there has been a very large difference between the best team in college basketball and the 15th best team though. I believe voters see a big difference and vote accordingly.
