Drummond is really developing nicely. Already looks like a different player

If you believe in advanced stats they seem to indicate that drummond should be getting a lot more minutes than maxiel; with more time on the floor he should easily average a double double and probably 2~3 blocks per game.

Drummond will be deandre Jordan on (more) steroids... With potential to play on the ball in three years or so he could be his own unique player... just needs the right professor... I heard someone say he was the youngest guy in the nba... If he's not the youngest he's def close... Good kid, hope he wants it

Forget comparing their rookie years , a pretty decent argument could be made that Andre is much better than Jordan right now. In my opinion that makes any comparison between the two lazy . If he doesn't get injured, everybody will be hating themselves for passing on a potential all star big

Cleveland could've had either Jonas or AD(or really both if they wanted to) and the big they got to pair with Kyrie is Tristan Thompson, smh.

Drummond is super talented. His biggest detriment is his athleticism sometimes makes him look as he is coasting. He makes things look easy sometimes. L

I have said this before, but Detroit is doing a brilliant job of bringing him along slowly and keeping his confidence high.

It should also pay off in a better draft pick next year to complement AD. Losses at this point are Detroit's friend.

Andre is going to be one of the best centers in the NBA soon. His potential is higher than anybody in the draft class. Including Anthony Davis.

I agree completely, but just for fun take a look at the raw numbers from their rookie years (so far for Drummond):

Drummond vs Jordan vs McGee vs Dwight vs Oden (as rookies)
Games: 31 53 75 82 61
MPG: 19.3 14.5 15.2 32.5 21.5
Points: 213 228 489 981 540
Rebounds: 217 237 294 823 424
Blocks: 47 59 75 136 69
Steals: 25 11 33 77 25
FG%: 57% 63% 49% 52% 56 %
FT%: 40% 39% 66% 67% 64%

Basically Drummond will shortly surpass Jordan's output from his rookie year in the first 50% of the season. Drummond will likely surpass McGee as well, though it may take a bit more time. I don't think he will reach Dwight's output but he has shown he has more potential than either Jordan or McGee. I also looked at Oden's rookie numbers and those are probably the closest number to compare to Drummond, though Drummond gets more blocks and steals.

Drummond vs Jordan vs McGee vs Dwight (current year)
Games: 31 29 30 29
MPG: 19.3 24.7 19.1 36.1
Points: 213 264 325 507
Rebounds: 217 202 150 341
Blocks: 47 46 59 73
Steals: 25 22 8 31
FG%: 57% 59% 60% 57%
FT%: 40% 40% 55% 51%
Looking at this year, Drummond is behind the others offensively, but is the second best rebounder by a decent margin. I would say Drummond is a better defender than all but Dwight, though McGee is a better shot blocker.

Drummond may not end up as good as Dwight but he should be able to outproduce either Jordan or McGee.

Usually when you look at per36 production per minute does drop when a player goes from low minutes to high minutes. It will be interesting how this works for Drummond going forward but looking at his splits so far, he is doing amazingly well with more minutes:

November: 16 games, 17.3 MPG, 13.1 PP36, 13.1 RP36, 2.5 BP36, 1.66 SP36
December: 14 games, 22.1 MPG, 12.9 PP36, 13.4 RP36, 3.1 BP36, 1.30 SP36

January will be interesting to track to see if Drummond's minutes continue to go up.

Drummond has only played 25+ minutes in four games so far, so it's a small sample size, but he is averaging:

30 MPG, 12 PPG, 10.5 RPG, 2 BPG and 1.3 SPG, or about what Dwight averaged over 82 games as a rookie.
