If Bynum had come to uconn for a year what do you think his freshman stat line would have looked like? Given it would have been a completely different collection of players around him my instincts tell me that he would have had similar struggles to Andre this year

Bynum would have scored more points. He actually had post moves coming out of high school. Bynum probably would have had more blocks, his length on the college level would have been a huge factor even as a freshman.

Bynum would have set an all time record for classlessness.

Andrew was a really nice kid - we would not have had an issue with him. I had a chance to meet him and his family several times at St. Joseph's - good kid.

Andre and Andrew were both young for their class - neither kid turned 18 until well after their senior year ended.

Andrew was taller, but he wasn't in the same kind of shape that Drummond is. It wasn't until he decided to go pro and signed on with a trainer that he lost about 25-30 pounds of baby fat - he would have brought that weight to UConn.

He might have been more consistent than Drummond is, but he would not have had the upside games that Andre does. The competition Bynum played against in Jersey was easily as weak as Drummond's and he didn't have the AAU experience. There would have been a long period of adjustment there - he would not have enjoyed the contact in the Big East initially.

Maybe 8-9 points, 5-6 rebounds and two blocks per game.

He wouldn't have Andre's athleticism. When Andre gets going its almost impossible to stop him because he is so quick, big, strong, and athletic.

I've never met him personally so maybe I was a little quick to jump the gun on that one, but I've just seen some things from him on the court that I haven't liked.

Not sure if Bynum was ever a good kid - I have no evidence either way.

I know he's a real of a man. Saw the guy throw a check on another player with an intent to injure that merited his expulsion from the league, in my opinion.

Well there was the JJ Barea incident and then Gerald Wallace, which I think you were referring to above

Problem is he doesn't "get going" nearly enough. See: getting blocked on a wide open dunk against Lville by a swingman. That was ugly. Andre can be a beast but he is insanely soft right now

Unfortunately Andre hasn't had many times this year where he "gets going". Being "big, strong and athletic" doesn't immediately translate into having good BB skills. No argueing that he has great potential, but there is no excuse for his performance at L'Ville. If we are to turn the season around, AD needs to get it going and develop some toughness pretty damn soon. Let's see how he does against an improved Melo.
