To all you cynics out there - Andre is averaging 10.4 points and 8.4 rebounds in Big East Play. When you look back on past Freshmen and what they have done - that is outstanding. Some people need to look at him more objectively. I don't know what they expected but these are very solid numbers for a Freshmen - in fact - they are in outstanding territory. He is shooting at 49.5% so eventhough many are dunks - I like that statistic as well.
Quite frankly, he needs to tighten up his assists to turnover ratio - that is a key statistic for any player - if he is to be effective in the team concept. He also needs to find a body when the ball goes up......take out a guy or 2 on lay-ups to prove a point, etc......and play the screens much better.
As I said previously he is a nice coach-able kid - he listens and will only get much better. I like him.

JC sometimes forces kids to leave. Sometimes he convinces them to stay. I think he will try to convince AD to stay (especially provided they are NCAA eligible--I really think they will be).

His freshmen numbers are better than Okafor's (except for blocks). They are better than Thabeet's. They are better than Boone and CV.

I would have liked 13-15 and 8-10 but 10 and 8.5 is pretty darn good. The problem is that Anthony Davis is out there doing 13.5, 10, and 4 blocks, and he can hit FTs,* and we all wanted Drummond--not entirely unreasonably--to be as good as Davis.

*This is an important aspect. Drummond's average would be much higher if he could hit FTs, especially because it would give him confidence to get fouled.

Quite frankly, I am usually skeptical of guys dramatically improving their foul shooting, but if AD comes back I think he will. He has about the best hands I have ever since with a big man at UConn..........it is really just in technique and developing a foul shot routine. ....that will make him relax at the line and get in a zone.

if he develops two good low post moves and boxes out consistantly he`d dominate night in and night out.

He is nice, too nice. I look at how a player contributes to the win/loss record. Those are the most important numbers.
