While we are focused on March Madness and rightly so, Chief wanted to give everyone some happy news.

Andre Drummond has found his perfect team, the Brooklyn Nets. A team that needs what he has to offer and a team that doesn’t need what he can’t do as well. He’s going to win a lot of games and maybe even get a Championship and he will learn from the best about being a pro. He will make a very valuable contribution to the team and provide the needed power in the post. It already has plenty of outside shooters.

Chief had the privilege of attending a recent game and catching up. After the journey through Cleveland, LA and Philly after Detroit - Andre is happy and found his place and teammates, who have his back.

Of course, Chief couldn’t be more proud and thrilled for Andre’s happiness and expected success to come,

“he will learn from the best about being a pro”. I hope he doesn’t learn too much from Kyrie Irving!
Agree or disagree with his thinking, Kyrie is an independent thinker and a HOF type player. Chief detects respect of him by his teammates. They may not agree with him on everything but they admire and support the premise that athletes get to have their own thinking about things too.

Was Andre in the same city as the game you attended, or did he have a change of plans?

Kyrie is highly intelligent but it is absolutely irrefutable that Kyrie is about Kyrie first and foremost. That didn’t go over well in the Boston locker room and I doubt that it will play well when the Nets get bounced out of the playoffs by dropping their last game at home.

Every so often I'll check where Drummond ranks in the all time NBA/ABA rebound leaders. Currently 56th all time a few months shy of 29 years old.

Obviously rebounds aren't maybe the statistic they used to be, but still pretty cool to see him up there in the history of the entire game.

What’s up with Bouknight? He’s been out with a “sore neck” for a few weeks now and missed games that he definitely would have played in.

The last thing Dre needs at this point in his career is to be the type of "free thinker" Kyrie is.

He'll learn from the best about being a pro? He's been in the league 10 years. Why are we talking about him like he's 19 years old?

Lack of mentorship/urinal time with Chiefy while out on his NBA career path has clearly stunted his mental development - expect him to really blossom as a person now that he is back in the tri-state area.

@Kenny11 - I think you probably have a good idea and Chief doesn’t want to sidetrack this thread. I hope things improve for him.

He developed in Detroit as a historic rebounder and NBA All Star. But, he had a weak supporting cast. For a variety of reasons the other cups of coffee stops were not good fits. The Nets are a perfect match for Andre and his teammates appreciate him. He gives them a couple dimensions that the team needed and never underestimate feeling appreciated. I see an improvement in his conditioning already.

I’ve never been the biggest fan of his game but one thing that sucks is that he’s never played with a really good point guard throughout his entire career, especially a pass first pg. Kyrie isn’t necessarily a pass first pg either but the attention he and KD get should allow Drummond a lot of lobs and tip ins

No last minute change of plans. Unfortunately, that time, many years ago now, Facey couldn’t forward the word timely, because he was preparing for the game. Not a big deal except for with some people here, who apparently have an issue getting over disappointment.

Good pick up On the relationship
I remember Emeka last year struggling the score until their star PG got off the DL
Immediately he went to double digit scoring. I can’t remember the PG’s name but was a guy whose career was hurt by injuries. L

Kyrie Irving thinks the world is flat

In case anyone forgot

Skimmed this thread and saw some words like “smart” and “thinker” being used to describe him multiple times so figured that was pertinent

You think it’s all about someone having the same opinion as you. To Chief it’s about an athlete having the right to think whatever he wants to think, like the rest of us.

Believing the earth is flat is, flatly, not an opinion. It’s a delusional rejection of reality and basic logic

That, and/or a sad inability to grasp the elementary concept of gravity

Having a different opinion is one thing, being wrong about objective facts like the world being flat is another. He has the right to think what he wants to think; that does not, in any world, make him "highly intelligent" and should not get him revered as an "independent thinker". We need to stop holding up athletes and leaning on their opinions just because theyre in the public sphere. Kyrie being a professional athlete does not make his opinions on the world or COVID or literally anything worth listening to any more than Joe Schmo on the street

Al Einstein never dropped 60 and he invented gravity
Newton invented , unveiled the laws and the results of Gravity.

Kyrie can definitely defy gravity but he will best be known for inventing novel ways to destroy basketball teams.

Al or Kyrie? Some think one’s a genius, some think it’s the other.

Depending on your viewpoint, it’s all relativity.
