Donovan Williams transferring (...or not?)

Wasn't his only other offer to play QB from JMU? Wonder if they're an option still
Ironically JMU probably could have beaten UConn in the last few years.

Trust me, I know Donovan personally. We had a conversation and he told me this.

Good job! He has the athletic ability to be on the field as a regular - he needs to be flexible position wise. I would love to see him as an outside linebacker - he has power speed and has a good frame. Put a couple of Jones inside and someone athletic like Donovan on the edge - and you start to have a Defense again. We still need a few legit DLs.

This. I'd much rather we look at him as a pass rusher than two trick plays a game lining up at WR.

Its worth a look this spring. The question will be whether he has the natural ability to seek contact and not be hesitant. Lots of guys can't play defense effectively because at the point of contact they are unwilling to attack downward with physicality.

True.

I agreed we need the speed rusher on the edge along with more of a push up the middle. Foley really under achieved last season or was that who he was?

I really like the fact that having him on offense as a receiver allows for a few more wrinkles in the playbook for Lashlee. Having a WR that can throw the ball confidently 30 yards downfield is a nice advantage that the other defenses have to honor. Plus, at 6'4", he can be an extremely useful WR if he masters the position...

LOL. Casual fan.
Did you watch the games? Is my statement correct or not.

I don't expect you to answer because -obviously- you don't know. Go back. Watch the tapes. Learn something. Because you know nothing.

From the Courant

"I feel like I'm doing as well as I can do," Fatukasi said. "I'm playing hard. Obviously there are always corrections that can be made."

And the difference in his role from last year?

"In terms of what I'm asked to do, I do that job to the best of my ability," Fatukasi said. "If Coach wants to me to do a certain thing a certain way I'm going to do that to the best of my ability."

OK, let's rephrase, the difference in the X's and O's?

"I'm only doing what I'm asked to the best of my ability," he said. "I have to be bought in completely."

It was difficult to disseminate if Fatukasi was avoiding giving a football answer or he isn't thrilled with what his assignments are.

King of Idiots,

I played this game at a higher level than 99% of the jack offs on here that think they know anything about football. You are at the front of that line. You are constantly wrong. You don’t know what you’re talking about. This is no different. The fact that you’d post this, as if it remotely proves your point, is sheer gold.

Sincerely,
Jimmy

Foley’s best spot is as a 3-4 D End. Due to the dearth of interior linemen he took one for the team and played NT.

Interested to see where he ends up in the NFL.

I think Foley ends up inside in a 4-3 at tackle and end in a 3-4. I think he will be a better pro than college player because of one on one blocking and not being double teamed each and every play

LOL. Casual fan.

Quite frankly, I can break it down further. If a nose guard is doubled for the entire pass play, the problem with our scheme was we were not blitzing through the interior.

Additionally, even if doubled Foley should get some push.

We can also do stunts, which effectively makes it difficult to double effectively.

On running plays, the offensive blocking scheme depends on the running play - off tackle, sweep, draw etc.

Jimmy, I hold this helps. Merry Christmas.

Oooooooof. Stick to the basketball board.

Dixon, Rose, Davis, Williams ... all HS quarterbacks. We don’t need all of them playing receiver. Dixon could probably be a very disruptive DB. I could see Williams at LB too.

Pretty sure Dixon set (or came close to setting) the program record for catches as a FR. He's valuable at WR for the future, keep him there.

Dixon should keep playing at WR, I think. Williams gives us some real nice size at WR, but so does McLean. I think there are still packages that Williams can do really well. Davis and Rose will be more TEs than WRs, I'm guessing...
