This is the type of kid Ollie should be stocking his roster with. He looks like a 4 year player and will be a college star at some point. This kid, if he progresses will outplay, a lot of the freshman one and doners as he will have developed both an offensive and defensive game. You keep 12 of these guy on your roster and with the right game strategy you can always be in the mix to win it all and won't be devastated when a guy turns pro. Florida had such a team this year but most of the guys had little offense which kept them from winning. That and BAZZ.

Does anyone have specific intel on Mitchell? I've heard of him for a while now and know there was some interest before, but has anyone seen him play? Rothstein was tweeting last night that he is a zone buster- which I have to imagine means he's an outside shooter. If so, that's much different than Ali's game, who we know is a tremendous slasher. I too want one of the Newman, Adams, Briscoe trio before even really considering Mitchell, but if he is available and likes UConn, that's not a bad "backup plan." I know Ali's recruitment now is extremely fluid, but I just can't see him ending up back at Storrs. It may be reading too much into the situation, but while UConn assistants have spoken with Ali since his decommitment, KO has not. Pure speculation, but KO is either pissed at him, or is just planning to move on. Or maybe he's just extremely busy. It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out. We may not know anything until the fall. Summer committments can be rare.

I think I read the same article as you that made it seem that Prince & KO have yet to talk. I think it's a bit misleading, because (according to a Rivals article) Prince initially called KO to decommit, and during that convo, KO told Prince that UConn would still recruit him and KO also told Prince, when it's all said and done, he believes he'll still come to UConn. I think since that conversation between Prince & KO, UConn's assistants have reached out.

No matter how this ends up it always seem to work its way out. In 3-4 years we may be saying "we were lucky this one came to UConn" because of the way things changed in the recruiting cycle.

No worries, UConn will be UConn no matter who ends up wearing that uni of all of these guys!

That's because of our great coaching. Not because we lucked up by missing out. My hope is for both JA and Newman/Stone to wind up here. If we have to settle then I'm sure whoever we get will be a great player 3-4 years down the road instead of immediately like the bigger stars.

Adams at PG.
Newman at SG.
Stone at C.

Now that's a recruiting class. Anyone know how many scholarships we have?

3, after counting Turtle, now that Ali decommitted

I would think that would set us up nice for 2016. We would likely try and pick up a wing and a big to replace Omar and Phil

And we'll probably clear up 1 or 2 more with various defections (pros or transfers).
