He’s got the size
He’s got the touch
He’s got the mentality

I’m not saying direct match but
Version of him

These comparisons will get him drafted top 5
Yup.

Of course Jokic is a generational passer and scorer. But DC is a high level passer for a big too. Not as good but he’s still good. He just has to show he can hit a jumpshot and the comparison will come. In a Ben Simmons is Lebron or Magic Johnson kind of way.

Do you mean they look alike? Because there's absolutely no way you're comparing them as basketball players.

Are we just comparing him to white guys who play basketball now because he's not anything like Brad Miller or Raef Lafrentz either.

Jokic might be the best passer ever. This is like saying Andre Jackson is a high level all around player but not as good of an all around player as Lebron is.

You have to acknowledge the acceptable UConn love for one of our guys…..and perhaps you have a point for ranking them at the same level at this time in Clingan’s career…because Jokic was not drafted until the second round and barring the unthinkable DC should be top ten pick. But Jokic is in rarified air at this point in his career. He makes everyone around him better. Not saying DC won’t be great at the next level but for DC’s sake let’s try a more realistic approach. Now it’s time to watch Jordan in his first summer league game.

The best comparison so far is a rich man's Travis Knight, and Travis was a 1st round pick and played 6-7 years in the League, earning a ring and over 20MM.

That's a pretty good floor.

Just because the thread started with overstated comparison doesn't mean it has to end with an understated comparison. Clingan is much, much better than Knight. Clingan would have been a top 20 pick this year if he left.

Nah it’s like saying Ben Simmons is Magic Johnson.

Of course he isn’t, but people are just comparing playing styles. Not how actually good someone is.

Clingan doesn't play anything like Jokic.
Think we’ll see it more this year as the center of the offense.

More than anything he’s not close to the scorer Jokic is at this point. If he can showcase an overall jumper, I think that comp looks a lot more realistic than it would watching mostly a lob catching freshman.
