posted this in the AAC thread too but:

Son, it's because a group of schools decided they deserved all the money and wanted to make sure that never changes. You see, College sports isn't about fairness, equal opportunity or best teams winning. It's about certain teams winning bebsyse rhey think they deserve to win. But, keep believing kid.

UCF is 13-0 after beating Auburn, but had no shot to compete for the National Championship. Every game counts, huh? Not so much. Scott Frost and UCF should’ve been in the playoff

It's amazing how many times Bilas had the right take. It's also amazing how nobody in power will listen.

UCF should absolutely make rings that say "national champions". Preferably don't use the same vendor that made the ConFLiCT trophy...

They have done everything to make the claim. The committee doesn't look that good right now.
Not going to beat you up on this Pal as you get enough of that here. Just not sure of why you think the committee does not look that good after this win.
A great win for our conference but nothing that should stake a claim to the NC. That was not the NC game, just a good bowl. Any team not in a P5 conference and even some that are must play a monster schedule to be considered.
A new, improved CFB strength of schedule measurement

Bilas is an inch deep.

He works for the people who helped relegate UCF and he doesn’t seem to have had much issue with it prior to today.

ESPN pays UCF less than they pay Bilas.

You can only beat who's on your schedule, and they beat them all. There's no excuse for an undefeated team to be left out of a playoff system. No excuse at all...

Oh there's no doubt that his employer was a major cause of this nonsense. I agree with you 100% on that. But at least he has the integrity to call the system out for what it is, despite his employer.

All he can do is speak out against it and hope that enough talk leads to something better...

And this is why the game is always rigged....can't schedule "strength", strength reserved for P5, but if you win against a P5 it doesn't count cause it's just one game. Ludicrous...just like your argument. They are undefeated and beat one of the P5's ordained superpowers . What else do you want.? If they played ins P5 conference, they would get a 1 or 2 loss buffer too..UCF did the hardest thing by far..going undefeated.

Strength of schedule alone will always favor the P5 schools - almost by definition.

UCF was certainly a top 4 school.

Dan I know this has you upset and I always appreciate what you bring here so no spitting match, just a difference of opinion on this one. The argument of you can only beat who is on your schedule is silly as the schools schedule their out of conference games. It is heartwarming though to see how many people think a win over us this year was of so much value.
The question I have is why nobody mentions which team in the NC picture UCF should have replaced and made a valid argument on why.

expand the playoffs.
It's the only answer. Unless they want to give the "Old Big East", their old automatic bid back which I doubt. Top G5 gets a bid to an 8 team playoff. Tjat way they can always give the SEC the two teams they're "entitled to" and the other P5 can battle it out for the last at large.

I don't like Alabama being in there. Not because of talent but because they didn't win their own division. At minimum you should have to win your division and play in the conference championship.

UCF wasn't relegated. They were promoted. Wake up.

UCF isn't better than any of the four teams in the playoff, but they're top 8, it'd be nice if they'd expand.
Really???? The only undefeated team in the country, UCF, just beat an Auburn team who dominated 2 playoff teams, Georgia and Alabama, in the regular season. In fact, prior to the SEC Championship game, most so called experts believed Auburn was the best team in the country.

Bottom line...the P5 will never allow the G5 to compete for a title....there is a reason the playoff isn't at 8 and it has everything to do with P5 exclusive access and money.
