Can OK put up a good fight today at home against Duke or will Duke have its way? IMO, this is a trap game for Duke today with the team trying to win # 500 for JP and even bigger weight is not to lose before planning UCONN........Watch the 1st 5 to 10 minutes to see if the pressure is getting to Duke..........If not, Duke should win by 15.........

That's why they play the game

Which OK team shows up today? Will their home court help or hurt OK? Typically, OK usually does not respond well to big games at home......I am looking forward to seeing how both team respond this afternoon.........Duke might be too athletic for OK............

There's always a chance, but Oklahoma doesn't have a very good chance against Duke. Duke by 30.

I think Duke should win by far more than 15, but the computers disagree with me. Massey says it will be Duke 84-73, giving Duke a 84% chance of winning, and Sagarin indicates a 9-point win for Duke. But Oklahoma lost to UCLA! I am just not impressed with any Big12 team except Baylor, who DID impress me against Kentucky. Lasting as long as they did with all starters (except the coach's daughter) fouling out shows real guts (and some talent).

Incidentally, if you're peaking ahead to the 17th, Sagarin presently has the game as 2-point Huskies' win, while Massey says 73-66 UConn (73% chance UConn wins).

Duke is the better team. Should win going away.

I haven't been impressed by the 2 games I've watched OK on the TV.

OTH, I won't specifically hold a UCLA against them - UCLA is very well coached and someone said in another thread that they are suffering injury problems. I've been too busy with other things to delve into it, I'll make myself informed in a couple of weeks as Arizona opens their PAC schedule against the LA schools.

Yes, UCLA HAS been hurt by injuries, but that's the point. They began the season with the same team they have now and Oklahoma still lost to them.

I'll be surprised if Duke wins in a blowout. OK laid an egg against a less talented, injury-ridden UCLA team. Sherri's teams typically rise to the occasion and play up to the level of competition in Norman before what should be a raucous crowd. I expect OK to hang with Duke for at least 30 mins with Duke's superior talent taking over at the end.

You have to fight to have a fighter's chance. OU is not putting up a fight so far.

Sherri used the word "soft" and that's exactly what I was thinking watching the first half. Duke is a much better team but OU showed no fight at all. Those two in-bound plays in which the OU defenders were not even looking at the ball are just unforgivable.

From an Xs and Os standpoint, OU has nobody with some size to put in the middle of the Duke zone to make plays. The result is the defenders can cheat on the perimeter which hurts Ellenberger and Hook. Then again, very few teams have playmakers like Stewart and Dolson to flash in the middle of a zone and make plays.

BTW, Gray is not running freely.

OU has to put the ball in Ellenberg's hands and let her create more. Hook simply isn't handling the Duke pressure very well.

Tuned in after the Patriot game:

I'm looking forward to the Duke game.
they have a lot of talented payers and a few might go off.

But…

Gray struggling against pressure defense. I'm sure the UConn coaches are taking note.

Hope they let Jones run the point some... she's capable.

It's a ten point game with just under 2 minutes left. Pretty close!

Was never concerned.... good road win over a probable NCAA tourney squad

... time to order a pizza and some chicken wings......... and maybe a chicken sandwich..... perhaps some potato chips.

Good response by OK; they scored 58 points in the 2nd half.

Great defense by both teams...........OMG!!...........58 2nd half points......Am I watching a rerun of Baylor and KY?

Rest up DUKE...........The UCONN Circus is coming to town in 9 days.........UCONN does play defense, they block shots and they can shoot the rock...........Congrats to Coach P on #500

UConn vs Duke will be highly entertaining...

Early enough in the season to give benchmarks to both coaches as well as those who play either of us on they (we) stand...

And with enough time left before the final push to Nashville to find solutions for problems...

In our case health and fouls are seem to be potentially our greatest weaknesses...
