I am curious how we match up in comparison to other schools. I looked through several news articles but didn't see the actual dimensions.

No offense meant, pun intended. I am much more concerened about the size of our linemen than that of the scoreboard. I am sure it will at least be Webster Bank times P.C. Richard by Bob's Stores squared.
The scoreboard size has never been a problem and I am sure from what has been in print it is not smaller. The number we need to improve is
butts in the seats.

From what I understand, it's now a rectangle shape (like a flatscreen tv) instead of the square, and fills out the whole width of the existing scoreboard structure.

I'm not sure where you see me suggest that the scoreboard size is more important than any number of other factors. That said, there's a reason that there's a wiki page with college football scoreboard size rankings. Size matters, especially if you want to be considered B1G.

Then you must also understand the little notation for those stadiums that are not university owned and operated and outside of their immediate control. i.e. Heinz Field/Linc

I think it's safe to say - we will be moving up the list.(up-tick :))

T - where did you see the dimensions in that thread?
I just read it again, someone linked to a story about Boise's new board, I thought it was ours.

I thought I missed it mixed in with the discussion of beer prices LOL.

does anyone know if there is going to be another one on the opposite side of the stadium, not the same quality but a smaller one like in most stadiums?

Some scoreboard info for ya....

"The main video display will measure approximately 28 feet high by 73 feet wide and feature a 15HD pixel layout to highlight live video and instant replays. It can also be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, scoring information and sponsor advertisements.

The two ribbon displays will provide the opportunity to showcase sponsors throughout events and provide up-to-the-minute statistics and game information. One of these displays will wrap around the fascia of the seating bowl featuring 20 millimeter line spacing and measuring more than 2 feet high by 210 feet wide. The other display will measure more than 2 feet high by 73 feet wide and feature the same 20 millimeter line spacing."

Love the crystal ball approach!!!

That's 70 and 25 yards of ribbon....not bad? Better than what I expected.

And wouldn't it be grand to see that's score up for the Louisville game?!?!?
