For the 4th time in as many home games (I nomadicly scamper around the stadium) I’ve had “UConn fans” around me actively rooting against and second guessing the team. Getting quite tired of it I nearly lost it today at a shirtless 40 yr old behind me who had the muscle tone of a 9 yr old and in his opinion way more football IQ than our staff who was vehemently cheering when calls he disagreed with didn’t work. Are you on this board? Someone simultaneously bald yet prepubescent?

Can’t really fault anyone who is buying tix and showing up these days but I’m quite weary of these clowns. Cheer on the team.

It's been real bad the last few years. Idiots beyond belief.

I've only been to five or six games the last couple years but typically the people around me are terrible. Even my non-uconn fan friends that come along are more into the game than people wearing uconn garb

I actually moved away from my 10 year+ season ticket seats halfway through the 4th today because I couldn’t take two of four UConn fans (they weren’t season ticket holders) behind me for this game who thought they were playing Madden. These weren’t “oh man/‘c’mon guys” comments - they were “I would have called this” and “I would have called that” and “Randy has no clue what he’s doing” type comments - incessantly. Obnoxious little batsards who weren’t drinking - just stuffing their faces w/ nachos and popcorn.

Sometimes you get lucky and have someone sit nearby that knows the team/game and sometimes you draw the short straw and get the tools who don’t know the guy they are cheering for graduated last year.

Way too many belligerent drunks, too. I don't mind folks having a couple of beers and having a good time. But if you can't see where you're walking and throwing up in the bathroom, it's time to reconsider your game plan...

There are usually some empty seats in our section....you’re welcome to join us @huskymedic

Were they the guys in 241 who couldn’t figure out how to hold their Barstool flag?

Hah, could your shirtless friend be worse than so many of the all-knowing game thread negatoids? ;)

My wife and I were walking over to the Jazz statue at halftime to take pictures with the football alumni and some drunk was booing because they let the clock run out and I said ‘since we get the ball after half probably didn’t want to risk it 80 yards away’. He proceeded to scream at me. I was blown away by how angry he was and I asked him why he was yelling at me. We’re not talking about some 20 something, guy had to be 60 and sloshing his beer. Don’t understand some people sometimes! So miserable a person. Just walked away from the loser

Geez... and you’re not a little guy.

I kept telling my son they were holding it backwards. They were probably too lit to know the difference anyways... (syob eht rof era syadrutaS)
We moved over to 241 to find shade and sat right next to him, it was hilarious.

I would bet you anything that guy posts on courant.com.

You know, this thread has actually reminded me of something that I've been itching to say but that I didn't want to start a thread to say it.

There are a few folks on this board who disappear after a win like they are part of the witness protection program! Oh sure, when we're getting our rears kicked, they're the first ones to chime in with the nonsense. But after a win? Crickets. After two wins in a row? I start to check the obituaries because I'm not sure they are still alive.

I never understood that about some folks and I never will. I'd rather be a super homer than to be a miserable prack...

The MBB board is so good at this. After a loss there’s 50 threads about what went wrong. After a win it’s a ghost town.

This is universal all over fandom. We have a handful of "fans" that get their rocks off criticizing every coaching decision and recruiting miss. When you point out we won 45-17 are ranked #2 in the country and have a top 5 recruiting class their response is yeah but... Best move is to put them on ignore.

Interesting observation. Maybe optimism just isn't their Forte.

Everyone around me in 204 started to vacate in the 3 rd qtr. People were leaving while Tulsa was driving with under a minute to go. I was incredulous.

I thought the decision to run the clock out at the end of the 1st half was the right one at the time because 1) we got the ball to start 2nd half, and 2) the offense was sputtering & needed to regroup.

And as it turned out, we drove down 1st drive 2nd half and scored a TD. It worked out.

These idiots and their lack of football knowledge would be funny if they didn’t always make me consider homicide as an option to shut them up.

STOP SELLING BEER INSIDE THE STADIUM. It’s a football game not a frat party.
