I wonder if DT, Maya or any of the former players "help" in the recruiting process.

They're pros. Why don't we take up a collection and pay them to recruit?

Of course they do. But it is frowned upon by the NCAA. However some UCONN alums are extremely stealthy and skilled at it. Famously Sue and DT took highly-prized recruit Maya Moore to lunch in Atlanta while they were in Russia.
That's why they are great players. That have mastered being in 2 places at the same time.

Funny you should put it that way. Just don't ask any questions about Burger King :p

"Geno knows." ;)
Wasn't that the best of all time? "I'm not going to way what I'm accusing him of. Am just going to be coy and let everyone's imagination run wild. But if you really want to know the terrible things Geno did, ask him. He knows".... Good grief LOL...

By the way, got any hand made signs? I want to report you to the FBI...

So the real answer is NO - former players, alumni, boosters, fans, et al do not help in the recruiting process. What does help is watching all the former players have great success professionally playing ball, or in whatever careers they choose after college, seeing them return to campus frequently, show up at home games and away games, congregate at the final four, etc. That does not go unnoticed.

All the snark aside, former players can be be very helpful in recruiting. I don't know specifically what happens or has happened at UConn, but I do know at tOSU Football, former players are a constant presence at the facility and at certain recruiting events. At tOSU's "Friday Night Lights" which is one of the premier summer events many alumni attend and interact with potential recruits, former Heisman winners Archie Griffin, Eddie George and Troy Smith were there last year, as well as HOF'er Orlando Pace and ESPN analyst Joey Galloway. they don't participate directly in recruiting efforts but having that kind of star power doesn't hurt. Doesn't UConn have former players come back for "First Night?" I know many schools have former players in the stands for the NCAA Tournament, Skylar Diggins and Kayla McBride were fixtures last year. I know there were at least 4 or 5 former Huskies at the Natty last year.

Thanks for posting this. Can anyone help with IDs? There are five I don't recognize:
Blond on first row
In white next to Meghan Culmo
Behind her, with Peggy Walsh's arm around her.
Gray UConn t-shirt and matching headband
In hat

Any help appreciated.

OF course they do---Geno and (selected alums) have a slush fund to pay for party time with WNBA/European stars and ONLY TOP stars are ushered into this inner sanctum--
If Pat summitt was still mindful of the current events and recruiting techiques applied by Geno and his staff the SEC and NCAA would be rocking and rolling.

With all this musical event---I ask---why isn't any one asking the same question about the Cheats??
Proven and documented but un tried or convicted--WHY??
Oh, yes , only an idiot would believe the above in bold type

A single alumna doesn't make a huge difference. Plural alumnae can make a different story entirely. Those who don't know the difference between alumna and alumnae will upset Grandpa Kibitzer and disrupt the recruiting process.

Wearing the gray UConn shirt with headband is the ubiquitous WNBA champion Kalana Greene.
