Two interviews from two veterans of the WNBA wars, one player and one coach.
First Katie Smith of the Seattle Storm has over 6,000 points and is two shy of 2,500 rebounds. She has titles in both the ABL and WNBA. While this year's Storm team has struggled some, in the three games Smith has played thirty minutes plus, they have won two and lost at the final buzzer to LA.
Katie and I talked Storm, Detroit Shock, and Minnesota Lynx old and new, playing and coaching, evolution and change, dogs and Seattle. A lot of fun with a great personality.
Mike Thibault is the only coach in the 10 year history of the Connecticut Sun. He's seen a lot in both the men's game and women's game, and as a coach in both is in a unique position to comment on the evolution and state of the women's game.
His Sun are on top of the East, and undefeated in conference. Thibault has supported his young players, and given them chances to succeed or fail. Where will this year's team end up?
