I've got a new podcast up on Hoopfeed previewing the FIBA World Championship for Women, with guest Richard Cohen, purveyor of the WNBAlien.com website, and very knowledgeable about international play/players. Podcast can be found here:

Also at 6 pm ET I am the guest of Rob Dibble and Paul Nanos on their afternoon radio show on 97.9 FM in the Hartford area, and here is the link to listen online:

http://www.iheart.com/live/97-9-ESPN-5238/?cid=main.html&pname=14945&campid=play_bar&autoplay=true

On the podcast, some of the topics covered include:
  • A breakdown of each Group (four teams in each group) in the opening round
  • Which countries should succeed, which are less likely
  • Top players on each country’s roster that are in the tournament, and some that are missing
  • Geno Auriemma’s United States team, the roster breakdown, and what to expect

With Dibble and Nanos, Geno and the UConn players the focus of course.

Enjoyed that a lot - nice to get an international perspective and a real discussion of the other teams and players.
Thanks

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. I had a good time researching this one, and found out a lot of neat things about all of the countries involved.

Richy is fun to talk to also, if for his accent if no other reason! :)
