He is correct though that Cav is having difficulty coaching the prima-donnas he recruits to UConn. Yale recruits character first. The results show.

Cav seems to be the kind of coach who belongs at an established powerhouse where players can motivate themselves based on tradition. But he won't end up as a head coach at one soon until he wins at UConn. Or maybe he needs new facilities that badly.

ding ding ding ding ding ding

All of the XL apologists have their heads squarely in the sand if they think UConn can compete with HE on the recruiting trail. Either renovate XL or build a rink on campus, or UConn will consistently get outrecruited by nearly the entire league.

Butch you just hit for Bingo. It doesn't have anything to do with new facilities it has to do with his coaching and the type of recruits he has brought into Storrs. A few might have some talent but the common denominator is they seem to be of the soft nature (not all but most). You can't mold, teach, motivate or coach a player to have grit, sandpaper, balls, toughness (mentally or physically) they either have it or they don't.

To me the problem is depth. We can't match up lines 2-4 and our defensemen aren't at the level required yet. When we have injuries, there is a big drop. 2 good recruiting classes are not enough. Next year, we will take the big step forward.

Who exactly are the Cavanaugh recruits you are referencing?

We can't match up line #1 never mind 2-4. If line #1 doesn't score on 5 on 5 they are a liability on the ice.

If this one didn't provide such woefully ill informed, perhaps jealous, comic relief, the ignore button would have have been slammed by many others. ... on par with the Waylon Bush Chief triplets of different mothers.
