Nothing like a positive perspective on a loss.

OK, the Huskies lost. Now it's time to get back to business.

Do you think the UCONN women can be tough enough? We'll find out soon enough!:)

DiMauro has some valid points, but the delivery has too much attitude. I thought several paragraphs in particular failed to understand the essence of UConn basketball. UConn doesn't play to the competition, we play to our own standards. And if that means we have more than our fair share of 40 point blowouts....well excuse us. He can check the box next to Replicant as being one of "the masochists who enjoy 40-point waltzes". I enjoy every minute of every game, including blowouts and seeing the end-of-our-bench getting minutes.

Talk about a drama queen. This quote is particularly annoying..."Sorry. But many of us approach UConn women's games now wondering whether we can endure another snoozer". Wow, this poor guy is forced to write about basketball games as a function of his profession and finds himself having to "endure" too many snoozers. ;) What happens if he is forced to cover the F4 this year and finds himself having to "endure" another NCAA Championship...poor thing!

Well put Rep. I too enjoy the "40 pt snoozers"....as long as we are playing well. U you can't watch UCONN for the beauty of their play, why bother?

Mike DiMauro loves trolling UConn fans...though he did write a really moving tribute to Maya Moore upon the end of UConn's 2011 season.

Seems like Mike is enjoying the UCONN loss just a little to much! I hope UCONN doesn't lose another game the rest of the season including the NCAA National Championship Game. That would certainly put him in his place.

DiMauro is simply incredibly insulting to both the huskies and the many opponents that do come to play.

..."Sorry. But many of us approach UConn women's games now wondering whether we can endure another snoozer". Of course, I pretty much take the same philosophical approach to his colmns. They are all pretty much snoozers.

Sorry to be contrarian but Di Mauro has a point. As much as I admire and love the UCONN prowess that leads to 40-point snoozers, there is something obscene in their regularity the last few years.

Well I'm with Mike…40 point games are not really a lot of fun to watch…Besides, he's not knocking Uconn for being that good, he's knocking the other teams for not fighting back. I loved the drama and the atmosphere at the game Saturday. Of course the unforced turnovers made it a little ugly but how often does Gampel get that loud? If Bria hit that last shot, I think they'd still be picking up pieces of Gampel's roof!

Be nice to Mike!! BC has an ACC conference record men and women of 5-20. What else is he going to write about?

Remember Mike is a diehard BC fan and just loves to write columns that get under the skin of UConn fans. His game stories are usually accurate and without bias. Now when it comes to his opinion columns, he is not a fan.

Boy, he must be enjoying the UConn men!

As for the column -- isn't this the same one writers bring out every time UConn loses?

couldn't agree more with mike. even though uconn lost, i can't believe people didn't enjoy that game more than the cupcake wins. you must be descendants of the spectators at the Coliseum in Rome. if a few more real contests like that could be counted on each season, i would feel the time and money to watch in person would be well spent.

Mike has a point, though, and it's the same one Geno kept making when UConn was on its 90-game winning streak and he would be asked if that wasn't bad for WBB. The other teams need to become more competitive, he'd say. That would be good for WBB.

So now they are.
