I found this. Old timers might remember it from mid season in the year following the first NC. Newcomers might not get some of the references, but some might surprise them. Heck there's even a reference to the subject of a current topic, from one of his first attempts at achieving notoriety at UConn's expense.

Sung (loosely) to the tune of Don McLean's "American Pie"

A long, long time ago
I can still remember how
A Husky fast break used to make me smile

And I knew if we had our chance
The mojo would help us at the dance
And maybe we'd be champions for a while

But the following season made me shiver
With every loss the dogs delivered
Bad news in the Boneyard
The national champs took losing hard

I can't remember if I cried
When we lost to the Irish and their so-called pride
But something touched me deep inside
The day the mojo died

So...

Bye bye Rip and Ricky and all
Tuned my TV to the Huskies but their shots wouldn't fall
Them Boneyard boys were drinking Rolling Rock brew
Singin' "this team just don't know what to do,
this team just don't know what to do,"

Dogfather's rep got a pizza stain
Then he went and bet on the Hurricanes
And left the Mrs waiting for her ride

Now do you believe in Husky ball?
Can we ever get a foul call?
Will luck return to the Huskies' side?

I know Albie's three goes in for him
'cause I saw him shooting in the gym
Then Doug went out for shoes
And the horde gave us the blues

I was a lonely old man Husky fan
With a cable modem and a minivan
But I knew the season was in the can
The day the mojo died

I started singing...

Bye bye Rip and Ricky and all
Tuned my TV to the Huskies but their shots wouldn't fall
Them Boneyard boys were drinking Rolling Rock brew
Singin' "this team just don't know what to do,
this team just don't know what to do,"

Now we're no longer the Big East's Beast
We're in the famine after the feast
But that's not how it used to be...

When Ricky shut down Langdon's fire
With an elephant he got from Al Maguire
to a cheer that came from you and me.

And while Trajan was falling down
Rash grabbed the ball and put on the crown
The huskies were on top
Fudgie's favorites had been stopped

And while JC wrote a book on hoop
Some guy named Koontz invented a scoop
And we trashed his story in the 'yard
The day the mojo died

We were singing...

Bye bye Rip and Ricky and all
Tuned my TV to the Huskies but their shots wouldn't fall
Them Boneyard boys were drinking rolling rock brew
Blaming everyone for not playing well,
everyone for not playing well.

A corn-fed team from Ioway
Went and ruined the champions' opening day
The Huskies fell and they fell fast

But they straightened out and played OK
First Duke, then 'zona fell by the way
With Calhoun on the sidelines as in the past

Now the mid-season air was sweet perfume
Houston and Texas both were zoomed
the 'yard looked forward to the dance
But we may never get the chance

When the players tried to play the game
The inflatable dog was not the same
Do you recall who was to blame
The day the mojo died

We started singing...

Bye bye Rip and Ricky and all
Tuned my TV to the Huskies but their shots wouldn't fall
Them Boneyard boys were drinking Rolling Rock brew
Singin' "this team just don't know what to do,
this team just don't know what to do,"

And there we were all in one place
A Husky-nation lost in space
With no way in to MSG

So Mike be evil and filled with hate
Jarvis thought up ticketgate
'cause Husky pain brings the devil so much glee

And as I watched him on the bench
I couldn't stand his awful stench
Even KFree's very best
Couldn't pass that Satan's test

As his minions cheered into the night
I chanced upon on awful sight
I saw Satan laughing with delight
The day the mojo died

He was singing...

Bye bye Rip and Ricky and all
Tuned my TV to the Huskies but their shots wouldn't fall
Them Boneyard boys were drinking Rolling Rock brew
Singin' "this team just don't know what to do,
this team just don't know what to do,"

Caron signed to wear white and blue
And we thought it was some happy news
But then he started thinking NBA

I bought a piece of the Tampa floor
'cause the mojo worked there once before
But Fat Mike kept saying UConn couldn't play

And in the press the pundits screamed
The true fans cried and the critics schemed
But on the 'yard no word was spoken
The servers all were broken

Oh the three dogs with the biggest stones
Ricky, Rip and Rashmael Jones
had gone and left us all alone
The day the mojo died

And we were singing...

Bye bye Rip and Ricky and all
Tuned my TV to the Huskies but their shots wouldn't fall
Them Boneyard boys were drinking Rolling Rock brew
Singin' "this team just don't know what to do,
this team just don't know what to do,"

Loved that "Fudgie's favorites..." quip.

Thanks RichZ. And for not bringing up your swollen nut story, too.

Had a chuckle at the Doug line.

That's hilarious about Koontz. A longtime nemesis returns.

Ode to the Old Boneyard
I was just lurker than
Worked prevented me the use of pen.
But I recall all the smoke and fire
The,quotes,the Quips of pure satire.
Those characters of old who should never be forgotten
Out weigh the trolls and pretenders that we have recently begotten.
I wish I could think of a clever closing line
But as you can clearly see I lack proficiency at Rhyme.
So I'll simply say Merry Christmas To all true Boneyarders
of pure heart.
