My eyes have deceived me before but the first time Syracuse inbounded it with less than 5 seconds didn't it go off the Syracuse player? Sure would have loved the chance to shoot a 3 for the tie.

They actually should have had a 5 second call as well getting the ball in. That's what Calhoun was complaining about, the ref wasn't doing a consistant count.

Usually there would be a replay on that, but for some reason ESPN didn't feel like bothering.

Also, it's too bad the NCAA has a bunch of duck*wads running the show because there is no reason for that play not to be reviewable.

if it were an nba telecast on tnt they would have shown that replay about 10 times.

Well, Drummond shoved C. J. Fair in the back on both of his put-backs at the end, and was doing that for pretty much the whole game, so I'd say it evened out.

Shoved or muscled? Big difference. Shaquille O'Neal made a good career out of that. Others have too.

I don't know who it went off of, but that's why I like the NBA rule. Inside the final 2 minutes, that's a reviewable play. Should be at the college level too. Get the call right.

LOL, you can go back and forth all day about bad no-calls in this game. The refs were letting them play for the most part.

The five second call may or may not have been there but it did look like the ball was off Cuse. The refs have been quite bad all year at judging who the ball went out on.

Yeah - it should have been a foul on Drummond on the missed foul shot (I'd say once they didn't call Fab Melo for riding Oriakhi like a polo pony before Oriakhi picked up his fourth, the over-the-back call should have been taken off the table the rest of the night - but that's much earlier in the game and not as relevant to the end-game issue we're discussing). But why are you using a skinny 210-pound Fair to block him out? It was a forearm in the lower back that shouldn't have rooted him out so easily, but he didn't have enough leverage giving up 80 pounds. These are the stupid things you guys do every year to lose big games (not to mention putting Napier on the line in the first place).

The earlier Drummond put back was him catching an air ball out of the air and dunking it like Lorenzo Charles. His earlier, earlier put back was a one handed dunk with nobody boxing him out. Can't complain about either of those.

Refereeing did not determine the outcome of the game. The refs are letting them play, which makes the calls look inconsistent when they make a "normal" foul call. Let's just stop these refereeing complaint threads.

Look for the arm extension, and you'll have your answer. I agree that once they let them play the way they did, it made it hard to call many fouls for the inside play, but on the foul shot, that looked like a shove to me.

well, the refs had nothing to do with the inability to put the ball in the basket for that 7-8 minute stretch. and as it has all season, it comes down to the lack of execution, whether it is offensive or defensive. when they are hanging tough like they did and fail to do the basics, it makes it harder than it already is with their offensive shortcomings
