I heard some fans say that the officials lost the game for UConn because they didn't call enough fouls on the Red Storm. I say the fans are to blame. No matter what game you go to, after a foul some fans yell out "LET 'EM PLAY." Well in this game the officials let them play. What fans should have yelled out after every non-call was 'DON'T LET 'EM PLAY." I think HuskyBill was the only fan who yelled that out in the entire game and no-one ever listens to me.

Did you say something?

The Pitt game can't get here soon enough.

The refs didn't have anything at all to do with the final result the other night; not a tad.

You have made the mistake of taking a huskybill post seriously. Probably best avoided in the future. :)

Well, CDs first post game comment on WTIC was in reference to the Refs. An indirect complaint. Can't quote her verbatim, but something like the Refs called four quick fouls on St. Johns, then let them play. I think she said it made it difficult for UConn players to adjust.

It would be nice if WTIC archived their interviews, because CDs post game interview was very interesting.

ETA: I found the archived CD interview here

You can skip forward to 9:00 minutes into the clip for CDs interview. ( Skip past the Bob Joyce recap, and Kara KBA interview) Basically, CD is discussing how physical the game was, how the first four fouls were on ST Johns, and then no more fouls called on them. Very subtly blaming the Refs ( but not really, I think has learned to accept the Women's Refs.)

Definitely worth listening to for UConn fans, who would like some insight to the coaches initial reactions to the loss.

msf22b,

Don't listen to the naysayers. You are right to correct HuskyBill's very incorrect post. He's made this kind of nonsense a habit over the years.... Characteristically, he missed the essence of problem, which as we all can see is intuitively obvious to even the most casual of observers:: They're weren't ENOUGH Refs!

For the curious... I refer you to Moore's Law [Goober's Edition]: More Refs results in more whistles and if you're lucky, even a few catcalls. While were at it... Please consider paying a bit more respect to the natural laws of the universe... They're a little lonely and feeling a bit rejected. Tonight, let's start with Gravity. While it's not magnetism it is important to obey Gravity: It's the law!

Your Ol' Balding Boo
soon to be on the endangered species list.

Put the blame where it belongs. On the clock.

It obviously stopped, allowing St. John's all that time to shoot the winning basket.

Get it right, y'all!

It was the strawberries! I knew someone had taken the key and helped themselves to the strawberries!
