I would argue that there are only 2 elite programs in the Big East now. UCONN and Syracuse. Georgetwon, Louisville, West Virginia, and maybe Villanova are the next level. Pitt is in the next tier with Cincinatti. and Marquette. It is the best of the 3rd tier, perhaps, but still below the other 6.Pitt has never been an elite program. They have been very good in conference play, but that doesn't make them an elite program.
Jerome DysonWhat sent UConn into the pits?
They are like your avatar. They predictably blow at the measured time in the NCAA's. Besides they are scum for their behavior in their dealings with the BE. Furthermore Pitt fans were enjoying flaming how they surpassed UConn as the BE's team prior to last season's BE tournament. So let us enjoy our moment of pleasure in ridiculing them even if it isn't rational. You are kidding, right? Pitt may or not have been "elite" but one game and a tough loss doesn't mean squat. UConn had a year when we didn't qualify for the NIT after winning an NC. What sent UConn into the pits?
