I know we won the game and that is the goal, but after the fumble return for a TD the score was 15-10. I was calling for a 2 point conversion to try and make it 17-10. I was more worried about USF scoring a TD to make it 17-16 then I was about 2 FG's to tie the game or win. Their kicker did not look that strong and he definitely had problems with the wind on the one attempt. Any thoughts? I know you can argue the mathematical possibilities for either the 1 or the 2.

I was for the one point there, but as the game went on there were a lot of us nervously picturing a last minute 17-16 loss after our prior games' defensive collapses. Hopefully, we've turned the corner.

Take the free point. You saw what happened when we were 1st & goal on the 1. And 2nd and goal from about where the conversion would be spotted. Still over 20 minutes of game time at that point.

Kicking the PAT there was the right choice. Halfway thru the 3rd qtr - a lot could've still happened.

Definitely happy with the extra point call. Missing a 2 point conversion would have taken all the wind out of our sails and would have allowed USF to opt for a FG earlier on knowing that we only had a five point lead.

i think there was enough time left to take the point. even if they score a TD to take the lead, we have plenty of time for a FG attempt. personally i don't think it's worth going for two go get to a 7 versus 6 point lead unless there's little enough time that FGs have pretty much come off the table. or maybe if the team has a boatload of momentum you ride it.

While the tendency to run between the guards on first down, play calling on first-and-goal at one and failure to take a knee at the end are all questionable at best, can't argue with settling for one with a lot of time left. The old 'chasing points' theory.

I wanted to go for 2 as well, but I also see everyone else point on going for

Any time in the 4th quarter I might lean towards the 2 point conversion depending on how the offense looks in short yardage situations but in the 3rd I typically say take the free point.

I hate to chase points that early and with the lead. One was the correct call.
