Was stopped at gate B by someone, not sure what connection to the Rent, who would not let my son carry our seats into the game. He said that seats with arms are no longer allowed. My son questioned him,but he was adament that it is no longer allowed since that day. Went to another gate no problem, guess they didn't get the message. Have been using these seats for many years.

Geez. Picking the wrong time of year to enforce these kind of policies.

We all get emails with the GameDay curriculum. If there is a change to what you can bring into the stadium (i.e. chairs with arms), then it should at least be communicated in the emails.

people carry seat backs into GP. I have never seen anyone hassled. They DO check you out on size of bag you are carrying in. I would think the same rules of seats would apply to FB as BB.

I actually had trouble carrying in my stadium seat in, but that is because I drank to much and kept dropping it as I was drinking my last beer into the game. My wife took my seat and had no problem with security getting both of them in.

.-.
I was talking about a specific gate B! He went to another gate and no problem. I wonder if this is an issue going forward.
In early Sept. I saw a woman with a fancy, white umbrella, pretty big too in section 127, row 21. Could not miss it from the concourse. How did she get it in? I tried to bring one in, because of health reasons and I had to throw it away before they let me in. Curious minds want to know.

It seems only seats With Arms is the problem. Pretty soon they will only let skinny people in. May be their doing a Michigan renovation, adding seats by decreasing the size of each seat, cheapo style.

Yes. My friend attempted to come through gate B with a seat with arms and he was turned away. When he debated it, saying he'd been bringing in this seat since 2003, they called the State Police. Rather than continue to argue he consented, walked away and went in with the "armed" chair through gate D with no trouble.

My daughter was also given a hard time getting through gate B because the size of her purse was too large. She simply backed off and found a woman a gate B who was screening, and she simply checked her purse and let her in.

This was fan appreciation??

A big positive of P@W stadium is the width of seat space so what is the issue with seats with arms and why did it start now? One positive last night for the parking staff was they had us pulling in nose to nose so everyone could tailgate at the rear of their vehicle. Next we may read that the Governor is going to lower taxes! We were stunned.

YES, we were right behind a gentleman with a big time arm chair at gate D. The debate went on long enough for us to ask both the guard and the fan to take a side bar and let the rest of us through. Most venues will not allow anything larger than what they rent as that is what meets the width requirements of the house. Bleacher seating comes in many sizes and if this one is at 14" folks bringing in 16 & 18" seats would obviously put people out of any reasonable space and out of their assigned seat space. Not that it matters this year but it is new management and maybe they are actually planning for the sellouts in 2017!

Yes and my wife got into with a staffer over the size of her purse. Ridiculous.
Special you failed to mention what was ridiculous. The staffer or the size of your wife's luggage. :D

While leaving the stadium one of the staff people at the gates stopped me and told me I had to throw out my season ticket cup. Had to make a scene about it and they finally let us through. Every week it's something new at the stadium. It's getting ridiculous

Also way too much security. Once they realized there would be no Halloween nonsense they should have backed down. Can't see through those guys. They usually aren't there for the whole game.

Parking attendants were ludicrous. Pulled my pickup behind my friend's SUV. Johnny parking wanted me to pull up & almost touch his bumper. Declined. He insisted. I said if I do that how is my friend going to be able to open up his tailgate to unload? The light bulb FINALLY lit & there were no further issues going down the line.

I usually enter at Gate D. Friday was the first time anyone ever said anything about my stadium seat, which I have used for years. One of the attendants said "his seat is OK, it doesn't have any arms." Now I see why that comment was made because it seemed odd to me at the time.

Smaller seats...

If you think security was bad due at the rent due to Halloween, you should see UCPD during a halloween weekend nowadays. They treat everyone like a criminal on big weekends.

This is the key question... what happened for them to change/enforce something that wasn't focused on in past.

This seems to happen a lot. Games 1-3 or 4 are conducted a certain way and we all get used to it. Then, on Game 4 or 5, they decide to throw everything out the window in a hurricane and not tell anyone about it. Whether that means closing a bunch of lines at certain gates, redirecting parking differently, enforcing some sort of "no tailgating during the game" policy, and now, no chairs with arms on them. No communication about the change, no warning, no nothing. Just a bunch of angry folks who vow never to return to a game again.

Frustrating isn't the word.

I will say that this year has been a HUGE improvement with the elimination of the full body cavity searches upon entry. This year has just been a quick pat around the waste and your in. It really used to pi$$ me off when they used to go from ankles to wrists on everyone coming through the gate, it would take forever to get through the lines.

I mean I've had people within 2 rows of me one time this year. Seems like a good time to enforce no arms. Cant have them brushing up against Halloween ghosts.

Where are you sitting? I went to 3 games this year and it was crowded around me in 126

I've been to all of them - granted I sit in a corner but I could go weeks without so much as making contact with anyone.

huh. I thought the crowds around me were pretty good this year. We were elbow to elbow every game with people in front of and behind us.

Pretty much no one has sat near me since Michigan. BYU last year there were some people and the Homecoming game against Temple a couple of years ago.

But in general it's a frigid wasteland.

Hmmm... Do you wear attire that identifies you as Whaler11??

No I don't wear a Kevin Dineen jersey to UConn games. But anyone who wants to stop by 206 it's pretty much just me and my wife and daughter.

Certainly not saying you are misrepresenting this particular experience, but I disagree. The parking attendants are, on average, a complete 180 from what they were last year. They have at least a rudimentary amount of common sense. It looks like the athletic department really took those surveys about the game day experience to heart. I hope they do it again this year.
