Great money to all the schools right now, makes sense geographically, better for student athletes......

it's the instability of the B12, with the special deals TX and OK long for

that's not changing. TX is willing to commit short-term because they have to, but they want more

I will concede that they are more stable than the BE right now, but it's fluid and that may not be the case in 3 to 5 years (actually, probably won't be the case)

a lot is going to happen during that 27 month window we have

Texas should just go independent. It's hard to believe how much drama gets created just for a few-several million dollars extra.

The Big 12 instability seems to be caused by Texas and their relative financial power. It makes you wonder if ND is really a good fit for any conference long term. That said, the Big 12 has a number of excellent programs that make them the 2nd best football conference behind the SEC. Just my opinion. If they could just play nice with each other they'd have no problems.

Texas' profit margins make even Notre Dame seem like beggars by comparison.

Saw an analysis of Texas' profit margins recently. They had to bond out the building of $300 million in new facilities and such. That's not in the ADs bottom line. They have a Rutgers type situation with stadium and facilities at Texas, but they are working it in a way that Rutgers is not. ie. the AD is actually sending extra money over to the academic side, presumably to finance the debt incurred.
