Taurasi scored 10,646 points -- the only WNBA player to surpass the 10K mark in scoring -- in 565 regular season games, and she scored another 1,476 points in 72 playoff games. She led Phoenix, which drafted her No. 1 in 2004, to WNBA championships in 2007, 2009 and 2014.

A five-time WNBA scoring champion and 14-time All-WNBA selection, Taurasi was league MVP in 2009 and Finals MVP in 2009 and '14. She also leaves as the WNBA's leader in 3-pointers made with 1,447 in the regular season and 215 in the playoffs.

It was a great run that I doubt will ever be matched! I look forward to seeing where life takes her.

She should take up coaching, high school. college or the WNBA. She would not disappoint Diane would be a natural as a coach as she would be so respected by her players as knowing how to play and coach the game. I think when Geno finally retires that Diane would be Uconn's next coach with Sue as assistant coach. Could not go wrong. My take. GO HUSKIES!!!!!

Diana would be terrible in high school or college IMO. Maybe WNBA. But many great pros havent been great coaches. And I could see D having an issue with folks who aren't as committed as she was.

Someone please post my favorite photo of DT, at Cameron Indoor, after torching Duke, despite the constant harassment of the Duke fans. Upon leaving the game, DT put her hand up to her ear, as if talking into a phone, turned and smiled at the Cameron Crazies and shouted out, “Call me!”

My very favorite memory of the GOAT. :)

She's said many times she didn't want that but who knows. It's also widely perceived that the best players don't always make the best coaches.

I can see her behind a mic…her knowledge and wit would be great to listen to.

Tausari has worked hard her whole career. In my view, however, she has so much natural talent that she may not be able to break it down and explain basketball the way a coach must. It is too intrinsic for her. Nonetheless, Taurasi will always be an ambassador for the sport!

Exactly.

D will always be the GOAT. I doubt we will ever see another one like her.

Doesn’t she also have the record for most Ts?;)
She does with 33 I believe - I was planning on making this point.

To me it’s not a negative - it just speaks to her passion on the court.

So many great pictures of her. Couldn't find the one of her popping her jersey in Tennessee or "call me" at Duke, but this is pretty classic of her...
