Year 3 and we need to show significant progress on offense regardless of where the coaches are standing. We all know what the issues are. And while the "philosophy" part is uninspiring from an excitement perspective, more ball posession and production will go a long way towards making us a contender within the conference. I've given up on this coach creating anything close to an offensive juggernaut which is unfortunate from a fans perspective, but acceptable as long as the win totals improve AND we show BC who's boss on 11/19.

I think we will see a lot more variation on offense this year. At the end of the day, if you can't block you can't do anything. Hopefully we see an improved line that gives us enough time to throw off of play-action.

That to me will be the key to the entire season...improved OL play will allow the program to continue to improve..another season of what we saw last season will be pretty disappointing in my book.

Diaco appears to be very analytically driven, and picked out areas of focus for improvement that have high correlations with winning (Lower turnover ratio, time of possession, etc,). He seems to be pretty methodical actually. Very excited for another season. Seems like a long way away.

Great point, I noticed that as well . These metrics are highly correlated to winning, and he is methodically focusing on the areas with the greatest room for improvement. Correcting just a few of these crucial weaknesses should pay great dividends to the offense as a whole.

The offense last season was much improved over 2014. Granted, that's about as low a bar as one could set, but nonetheless the progress was evident in total yards, turnovers, etc. To my eye the OL was much improved as well. Can we reasonably expect continued improvement in 2016? I certainly think so. The one concern I have is Sherriff. If he goes down we really have no idea what we have in Davis or Anderson. I also see a lack of depth at RB unless one or both of the true frosh have something to offer. My hope is that this new kid at TE/F might give us needed depth at that position and bring a level of speed, athleticism and depth to that position.

As for a high-powered offense, I really don't care. Grinding out first downs and keeping a good defense fresh can win a lot of games, especially when the weather gets cold.

As I have previously noticed, it was not difficult to show improvement in 2015 because Diaco dumped 2014.

However, it does appear that Diaco has a plan and is sticking to it. He has shown that he will ignore certain units , in 2015 it was the return game, to concentrate on other parts of the team, in 2015 we improved the passing game and overall QB play. The challenge for Diaco as we move forward is to maintain his gains while bringing along the poorer units. The return game took a huge step backwards last year. That cannot happen to the passing game as he moves on this year.

I completely agree that the offensive line is where he should focus his attention. However, an improvement in the return game will make life easier on the offense by giving them better field position. As I have always maintained. There is enough talent for this team to be an upper echelon squad in this conference. It is time to start assembling Megatron.
