From TOS:
Thought that this article would quell some concern about Ollie making a statement he is coming back since he is telling incoming players, and probably recruits, that he is coming back.
Daniel Hamilton put it simply Saturday night when asked about his future college destination.
If Kevin Ollie stays at UConn, the five-star forward will be a Husky.
If Ollie bolts to the NBA - which, according to most league rumor mills, is becoming a legitimate possibility - then Hamilton will "probably" not end up at UConn.
"I'm going to be signing there in a little bit, but I still have to talk to coach and clear up some stuff and talk to him about some more stuff," Hamilton said.
Ollie has told Hamilton he has no plans whatsoever of leaving UConn. But the 6-foot-6, 180-pound wing needs to be 100 percent sure his head coach will be there if he fully commits to UConn later this month.
Because if Ollie does leave, Hamilton "more than likely" wants out as well.
"He just told me that he's going to be there and that he's not going to go anywhere," Hamilton said of Ollie. "I just have to weigh out my options and see what's next. Because if he goes somewhere, I have to do something about it and talk to my family about it."
If that situation were to unfold, UCLA seems like the likeliest beneficiary of the whole ordeal. Hamilton's older brother, former five-star guard Isaac Hamilton, is currently on campus and, after sitting out last season, he's slated to see big minutes in his sophomore campaign.
Playing those minutes with his little brother next season is something he's already put in Daniel's ear.
"He would love for me to go over there and join him," Daniel Hamilton said with a laugh.
But in order for that to happen, Ollie has to choose another job other than being UConn's current head coach.
