Detroit Mercy announced it has suspended the rest of its women's basketball season amid allegations of abuse by first-year head coach AnnMarie Gilbert.

What's even worse was this coach had been relieved of duties previously at another school! Something about zebra's and leopard's with stripes and spots comes to mind...The team should sue the AD and the AD should lose their job.

I do not understand why some coaches feel the need to be abusive to their players. I can understand wanting to get the best out of their personnel but humiliating and being mentally abusive to a group of young adults is probably not the best or most efficient way to go about it.

Of course, I've never been a coach so maybe I speak out of turn. I just could never imagine Wes Moore or (insert your favorite coach's name here) treating his players that way.

So players wanted to continue playing under a different coach but the administration decided to pull the plug and add more pain to the players.

After you read the parents’ letter detailing the abuse, then go to the school’s website and read their mission and values. What a joke!
