Describing coach in 1 word

OK, I know he is the goat and all the other glowing words posted here. But I want to relay a story. Many years ago, when UConn held First Night preceded by an autograph session, I was one of the last people in line. The players were already starting to get up and head to the locker room. Geno was still there signing the last couple of autographs. I said, "Good luck this season, coach". He replied, and not in a nice way, "what makes you think I need luck?" OK, these autograph sessions must be a pain in the buttocks, and I can understand he was tired, but at the time the one word I could think of was "Snide".

Today the way UConn is going, if they ever hold another autograph session, it won't be free.

Rather than trying to offer my own one-word description of Geno, I think the fascinating thing about this video is what the players' word choices say about their perspective on the season and on their UConn experience.

The one that interests and puzzles me the most is Ashlynn's "determined". She is undoubtedly right that he is determined, but I'd like to know what she thinks he is determined to do:
  • Win a 13th National Championship? (doubt it)
  • Get the most out of each player's talents?
  • Prove that, even in today's environment, players can be coached hard and held accountable without losing many of them to the transfer portal?
  • Prove that this year's team can succeed without Paige?
  • Prove that even at his age, he can successfully navigate the NIL era of coaching?
  • Burnish his unmatched record of producing more successful pro and Olympic players than any other college coach?
  • Go out in a blaze of glory?
Any other ideas?
