Couple of things, if Boatright was 6'4 with his athleticism and ability to create his own shot he would've been drafted by now.
NC State has a drive and kick type of offense which really didn't fit purvis because his main strength isn't shooting. Our offense is going to be way more suited to Purvis skills and allow him much more freedom to make plays. At 6'4 he would be a big PG in the NBA. That's where he wants to play. He has already been here a whole season under Ollie and we have seen how Ollie can turn an out of control player into a header, great decision making PG with 3 players already (Kemba, Shabazz, and Boatright) so I'm sure Purvis will also be on that list. Ollie called him the most talented player on last years team that had the AAC player of the year on it and the tournaments most outstanding player. There's not a doubt in my mind he makes that leap. From all reports he looks great and ready to come in and make a huge impact. He will average at least 15 ppg this year as the main scoring option being the most talented and knowing how to play uconn basketball after practicing with the team for a year.
Hamilton is not like Deandre at all. Deandre had consistency issues, wasn't much of a elusive or smooth scorer had a very to the ground game, and played the 4 a lot with no good skills besides shooting really. When he played hard he was a good rebounder and defender on top of it. But that's when he played hard. Hamilton looks a lot better scoring wise. His handle and playmaking ability looks a lot better from his tape. Deandre never looked to pass much unless he had to when he had the ball. Hamilton jumpshot releases at his high point and he actually jumps when he shoots. He will be a much better scorer than DD was. He has the size to be a prototypical 2. If we go deep in the tourney and he plays well like I said before I wouldn't be surprised if he left. But I could see him staying also to enjoy the college experience since his family is pretty well set. I'm sure he has nba game though also seeing as he has a brother already in the nba that he trains and learns from.
