and they are supposed to be the best opponent we have in the big east. Did we join the league a year too late? So is our main opponent now? Ourselves? Don't be cute and say our second team. Marquette? This will not help our strength of schedule.

This entire year feels like a crapshoot with every other game being cancelled due to covid, a shortened season and teams just don't look very crisp on the court. I know it's common for teams to look sloppy early on, but this year has been particularly bad IMO. Cause of it is likely lack of practice together, external stresses, forced breaks due to covid, etc.

DePaul lost their 2 best players from a year ago and looked atrocious vs. Louisville until the 4th. They also hung with A&M and barely lost. Tied with Loyola right now, but it appears they fit the mold of being an up and down team.

Ralph-seriously, they lost to Texas A&M 93-91 and to Louisville who is probably #2 or 3 in the country. You not only were wrong on the game you also "overstated your headline". It's not like those two schools are nobody's...

DePaul will be fine is correct. They just didn't match up against Louisville. Louisville played the best game they will play all season against them. it happens.

DePaul had one of their worst 3pt shooting days in years against Louisville, 4-27 or 14.8% and was 23-81 or 28.4% for the game. While Louisville shot 6-16 or 37.5% in 3pt shots and 49-81 for 60.5% for the game. So one has one of its worst and another has better than their average. That's basketball, sometimes it goes in and other times it doesn't.

Kelly Campbell was an assist-meister and court leader, but the even greater void was left by Chante Stonewall, who was their stalwart in the post and on the boards.

Losing the Wisconsin transfer Fredrickson to medical retirement is a huge blow that leaves the front court void basically unaddressed. AFAICT DePaul is playing a true 5-guard lineup and that's gonna make for some rough outings.

Loyola-Chicago, FWIW, isn't a bad team really. Last year, at their gym, they took DePaul right down to the wire before losing. And DePaul went on to record its best regular season in many years (ever?) and was on track to host as a 4 seed in the NCAAs.
