i know Depaul is solid, but they are the walking wounded - this is a game RU should dominate...

Just turned on the game after dinner with the family and couldnt believe my eyes! Is Depaul really up 56-44??? I would have thought Rutgers would have been up by 10-15.

Anybody got details??

i'm with you HF1125. i figured RU would win this going away. not sure what is going on. Anna Martin is on fire tho. nice win for Depaul if they are able to hold on. not a good loss for RU tho...

Blue Demons literally throwing this game away. Seems like they have no idea how to play with a lead.

Wow, RU comes storming back and is set to take the lead and turns it over twice. And now DePaul with a turnover, RU down 3 with the ball.

Wow Rushdan bails out RU this time. Almost did it vs. SJU as well.

If those are 2 top 25 teams, I dunno. Rutgers plays no offense and DePaul has zero idea how to defend penetration.

Well that was a textbook example of how NOT to finish a game. DePaul goes from a 14 point lead to looking like the keystone Cops by the final buzzer.

wow that was something. not the kind of meltdown you'd expect from a Doug Bruno coached team...

And aren't those "whuppins" so enjoyable to watch? Among my favorites of the year, especially if it's a first-class beatdown.

Is Coach Bruno considered a good coach based on accomplishments as a coach or because he is Coach Auriemma's good buddy?

Good enough to help out with the WNT.

It is not that uncommon for a Bruno coached team, but it doesn't make him a bad coach. He lets his players play the game, and as result meltdowns occasionally happen. Doug doesn't orchestrate every possession like Harry with a bunker mentality. Happens to Geno too sometimes for the same reason, although Geno protects himself from it with superior recruiting and and instilling a stronger sense of discipline in his players with the "pursuing perfection" mantra.

You have to remember the number of these kids who have been moved into the active line up due to injuries. It shows up most at crunch time. It is like us using our deep bench against ND against Rutgers at crunch time.

Exactly.

Looks as if passing on offense and moving the feet on defense are not allowed.

I give credit to RU for being the best "sulking team" I have seen this year.

No credit to Rutgers for pulling victory from the jaws of defeat? No praise for overcoming a 16 point deficit with under 11 minutes to play?

Freshman, Hrynko, who played 40 minutes, had 8 turnovers, many down the stretch, which killed them. Not so much Bruno's coaching as exhaustion and Rushdan's inspired play in a very tough venue

If their goal is to be a Sweet 16 team, sure, it was a step in the right direction. If their goals for the season are loftier than that, they have no business being in that position to begin with against DePaul.
