I think it mostly comes down to how Reed’s rolling and foul trouble. If Reed’s on and staying clean, minutes get tight. If not, Reibe’s role gets bigger.

Ahh okay got it - agreed. I thought the OP was implying he’s injured because Hurley put him back in the game. If the trainers said he couldn’t go, then Hurley wouldn’t have played him

I do trust Hurley to make adjustments to his roster in the portal. With that said, a lot of people were right to not follow the “in Bill I trust” advice with the way Belichick drafted in his later years with the Patriots. Sometimes the fans are right.

I thought the offense looked fine overall with Malachi running the point. We generated a good amount of open looks taking shots we like to take, and I'd imagine we continue to get them with UCLA likely having 1 eye on Tarris for the whole game.

  • High preseason ranking based on holdovers from a championship team and high-profile additions
  • Great OOC that buoyed our record into January.
  • Mediocre performance in conference and the team arguably got worse throughout the year (with a better conference, that translated to more losses and a worse ranking).
  • Bad losses to St. John's on the road and in the BET final.
  • Injured PG going into the Tournament

All of that translated to a forgettable Tournament and season overall, which this would register as with a loss tonight.

I guess you’re preparing yourself for the loss…they still have to play the damn game. They still have a great team without Demary. We need to keep turnovers down, rebound the ball and hit 35% of our threes.

I believe going back in that game is not the cause of a worse injury just highlighted what he already had, he tried it out, wanted to come back in, thought he could do it. The trainers being in game time and on the spot don’t have all the imaging to know for sure what he had. The foul which wasn’t called originally is inconsequential but added insult to injury.
Will he be quick enough to stay in front on defense? Silas can distribute even if hobbled. Maybe if he can play 15 minutes

Thank you for that pumping up post. We all know the history and the team’s inconsistencies and pitfalls. I was trying to forget them for a couple of hours.

Yeah, seasons are really a journey that can go in many directions. Who knows, maybe they find a spark and catalyst to take off from here.

Had a big lead vs Illinois and won rather comfortably with Silas limited by foul trouble, beat KU on the road with Silas not playing that well, beat UF with Silas limited by foul trouble. A win can still be had with Malachi running the show, this is on Tarris/AK/Solo/Braylon, especially the latter two. Time to step up and look like competent D1 basketball players.

Not sure if anyone posted it yet, but Silas’ injury is officially classified as a high ankle sprain. Which is not good for the hopes of him playing tonight. High ankle sprains are usually a minimum of 2 weeks

After seeing what High Point and Vanderbilt did shooting the ball, yeah I was envious. Hopefully their hot shooting spirit gets into UConn, especially Ball and Mullins-it's not optional, it will be needed tonight for the win.

Would I love it if Demary was close to 100%? Yes, of course. Same goes for Jaylen Stewart. UConn has won a few games without Demary being effective. They can do this. No one from this fan base should throw in the towel. Forget winning a title. Forget getting to the Final Four or the Elite 8 or possibly playing St. John's or Duke. Just defeat UCLA, that's it.
